Sakura and the Melting City
A golden drop of water fell from the blackness above, and hit the ground, rippling across the blackness. From the ripples, King Penguin appearred.
As King penguin grew closer, it caught fire.
Fire spread across the huge slide as it grew ever closer.
It started to melt, and as it still grew closer, it's mouth filled the veiw.
Soon, blackness took over again. From the blackness, Sakura appeared.
Where am I? Sakura asked.
She was dressed in a Madison outfitwith a long cape that hooked to her shirt with a big redbutton on her chest, and a hood covered her head. She also had on a wide, frilly skirt that came up in an unside-down 'V' shape infront of her.
Sakura looked aroung her.
I'm at the park! She realized.
Suddenly, a huge pillar of swirling water flew down at her from nowhere!
AAHHH!!!! She screamed, bringing her arms up in defence.
Sakura's eyes snaped open, and she sat up in her bed.
"Wha?" Sakura asked, looking around her room.
She looked over at her clock and gasped.
"I-I can't beleive it!" Sakura cried, "I woke up early!!"
Kero dragged himself out of his drawer.
He yawned and said, "What're you doing up now?"
Sakura turned to him, "I had a dream again."
Kero looked at Sakura, "Another one?"
Sakura stared off into space, "Yeah."
"Well," Kero said, flying around infront of her, "What happened?"
Still stareing off, she said, "It was like I was flying at King Penguin, and it caught fire and started melting."
"That huge slide?" Kero asked.
"Yeah," sakura replied, "And then I went straight through it's mouth, and I was..." She trailed off.
Kero sat infront of her, on her bed, waiting for her to answer.
"...Somewhere else." Sakura finished, "The park, I think. And then this huge... Tornado of water flew down at me."
"And then what?" Kero asked.
"And then..." Sakura said, "I guess I woke up."
Kero flew over to the Clow Book, which sat atop her dresser.
"Kero," Sakura said, swinging her legs over the edge of her bed, "I thought after I became the mustress of the Clow that the dreams would stop."
"Sakura," Kero said, opening the Clow Book, "Magic attracts magic. As long as you're the Clow Mistress, I doubt if the dreams, and the magic, will never stop."
"But can I make them stop?" Sakura sked, getting dressed for school.
"Only by passing on the Clow Cards." Kero replied, taking out the Windy Card, looking at it upside-down.
"Passing them on?!" Sakura yelped, turning to look at Kero, "But I haven't even been the Mistress of the Clow for a day!!"
"Then don't worry about it." Kero replied, "You were able to seal all nineteen Clow Cards and defeat Yue in the Final Judgement. I think you can face whatever comes your way."
"Well, in any case," Sakura said, plucking Windy from Kero's paws, "I'm taking the cards to school, just in case."
Sakura tok the Star Key off her desk, and slung it around her neck.
"I'm going." Sakura called.
"Bring me some breakfast!" Kero barked.
"Sure." Sakura replied, and shut the door.
Tori trudged down the steps, slumping with tiredness. He saw Sakura at the table and straightened up.
"Sa-Sa-Sakura?!" Tori gasped.
Aiden looked over at Tori and smiled.
"Looks like Sakura got up a little early today." He said with a laugh.
Tori eyed Sakura mysteriously as Sakura stared back at him with a confused look on her face.
Is that the fallen angel I saw that one time? Tori asked himself The one that almost killed me?
"What're you looking at, Tori?" Sakura asked. "I don't have your brain, you know."
Yup, it's the squirt. Tori thought.
"Whatever, Monster." Tori replied.
"I am not a monster!" Sakura cried, throwing her fork at him.
The fork bounced off Tori's shoulder as he got up. He grabbed a biscuit from Sakura's plate, and said, "I gotta get to school early, so you better hurry up, Monster."
Tori turned away and walked out the front door.
Sakura stuck her tongue out, and took her leftovers and another pancake.
Sakura jumped off her front stoop, and skated away, pulling her backpack over her shoulder.
"Slow down! You'll have a wreak!" Aiden called.
"I've gotta catch up with Tori!" Sakura cried, and skated around the corner as fast as she could.
She finally caught up with Tori, and gasped for air as she skated along side him.
"You wouldn't had to catch up if you didn't finish your breakfast in your room." Tori said.
"Hey Tori!!"
They both turned around to see Julian on his own bike, riding towards them.
Tori and Sakura stopped to let Julian catch up.
"Hi Julian." Sakura said dreamily.
"Hey Sakura," Julian said, and turned to Tori, "Why the rush? Usually I'm here before you guys are."
"My turn to set up the Chem. Lab." Tori replied.
I can't believe he's Yue. Sakura thought.
Julian turned to Sakura.
So Yue can see me now? Sakura asked herself.
"How're you doing, Sakura?" Julian asked.
"I got up before Tori did today!" Sakura said proudly.
"Really?" Julian asked, "Tori always says how much you sleep in. Is this a change of pace?"
"Maybe." Sakura replied.
Sakura slid the door to her classroom open.
"Hi!" Sakura said, then blinked.
The only people in the classroom was Chelsea and Li.
"So this is what it's like to be early." She said to herself, creeping to her desk.
"What're you doing here so early?" Li asked.
Sakura turned in her seat to face Li.
"What? I can't be early once in a while?" She asked with a mock of anger in her voice.
Li gave her a strange look.
"Are you The Mirror Card?" He asked.
"Arrfh! Don't talk to me, okay?" Sakura asked, annoyed.
She spun around and began scribbling in her notebook.
Sakura stopped and sighed, putting her pin down. She turned to face Li.
"I'm sorry, Li. It's just that I'm not used to getting up so early." Sakura apologized "I'm still sleepy."
Li waved his hand, as if waving away a bug.
"It's okay." He replied.
Suddenly, student began flooding into the classroom.
"Sakura?" Madison asked, walking over to her desk.
"I am NOT the Mirror Card!" Sakura cried.
Madison at back down in her seat, "Well that's good to know. Why're you here so early?"
"I woke up early." Sakura replied, and Mr. Terada entered the room.
"To your seats, class." Mr. Terada said, walking over to the blackboard and writing his name on the chalkboard.
"We will start with an equation from yesterday's lesson," Mr. terada said, "Li, would you come and solve this one?"
Li got up from his seat, and walked up to the chalkboard.
Madison leaned over in her seat, and whispered, "Why did you wake up so early?"
"I had somekind of a dream." Sakura whispered back.
"But," Madison said, "I though after you sealed The Dream Card, your prophetic dreams stopped."
"Yeah." Sakura replied, "I don't know why they've started up again."
"Do you know what the dreams mean yet?" Madison asked.
Sakura though for a moment, and said, "Huh-uh."
"Well," Madison said slyly, "You could use The Dream card to clarify your dreams."
"But," Sakura paused, "I've never used Dream before. I don't know what'll happen."
Sakura stared at Madison.
"And all you want to do is film it!" She accused.
"You bet." Madison replied.
Sakura stood behind the school at recess, with her Star Key and Dream Card in her hands.
"Ready!" Madison said, bringing her camera up to her eyes.
Sakura held the key out infront of her.
"Key which holds the power of Darkness! I, Sakura, command hee under covenent, reveal your true form before me! Release!" Sakura commanded.
The Key sat in her hand.
"Hoe?" Sakra said.
Suddenly, the key glowed a golden color, and began spinning infornt of Sakura.
Sakura staeeped back as the key spun around wildly, gradually growing into her wand.
"What?" Madison gasoed, looking at Sakura's feet.
The symbol was not appearring under her.
The wand fully grew and floated into Sakura's hand.
Sakura stared down at it in wonder.
"It's never done that before." Madison gaped.
"It feels different than it did last night." Sakra said, a little spaced out.
"Well, it did change last nght. Maybe it feels diffrent at night." Madison suggested.
"Maybe." Sakura said, holding The Dream Card up to her face.
She tossed it out, "Dream Card! Show me the meaning of my dreams! release and Dispel!"
Sakura brought her Star Wand down.
... And the Dream Card fell to the ground.
"What?" Sakura asked, staring down at the card.
She brought her wand down over the card.
"Release!"
The card shook, and jumped away from the wand, making her wand hit the hard concrete.
"Hey!" Sakura cried, "Release!"
Thunk
"Release!
Thunk
"Release!"
Thunk
Sakura straghtened up, "I don't understand" Sakura said with worry in her voice, "Why wont it- Release!"
Sakura spun around and swung her wand down.
Thunk
"Release!"
Thunk
"Arrguh!" Sakura cried, reaching down and grabbing the card off the ground.
She brought her wand up, holding The Dream Card in her hand.
"Release!"
The wand suddenly began to glow, and it shrunk into her hand.
"Wh- What?!" Sakura gasped, opening her fist.
The Star Key had changed back. Sakura turned to Madison.
"It turned back into a key!" Sakura cried, holding it out for Madison to see.
"It changed back into a key?!" Kero gasped.
"Yeah." Sakura replied, holding out the key, "It's like it didn't want me to use Dream."
Kero floated over to the key.
"What do you think it going on Kero?" Sakura asked.
"I'm not sure." Kero replied, "There may be one thing... But one thing just dosen't fit."
He glanced over at the unchanged Clow Book.
"What?" Sakura asked
"Well," Kero started, but stopped, a shocked look coming over his face.
"What's wrong?!" Sakura yelped.
Suddenly, the carpet under Sakura shifted, and her foot went straight through the floor!
"KERO!" Sakura screamed.
Sakura stared at her room.
It was... melting!
The room's walls were dripping their own color. Sakura's bed collapsed, turning into a pink and white ooze.
"HELP!!!" Sakura screamed, sinking up to her waist in her floor!
Kero rushed down, and began to tug on the collar of Sakura's shirt. She didn't budge.
Sakura's room continued to melt and become a thick ooze.
Kero's wings billowed out, and covered him. When they retracted, he was in his lion form.
Cerberus spread his wings, floating above the ground, Cerberus grabbed the collar of Sakura's shirt with his teeth, and tossed her onto his back with a flick of his head.
Sakura wrapped her arms around Cerberus's neck, "Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome, Sakura." Cerberus replied.
Then, the wall infront of sakura began to swirl. The melting wall parted, and there stood a figure with a golden aura around him.
The man had deep, dark eyes that peirced through Sakura to the depths of her soul. He had long, black bangs that were parted in the middle. The rest of his hair was gold. He wore a tight shirt that went up to his neck. He had a loose, coat-like thing that was attached to his neck, and a belt that had a long, diamond-shaped strip of cloth on it that was black with gold trim. He had on very loose pants that were tied to his legs at his knees and ankles.
He stared at Sakura intensely.
"Sa-coo-ra..." He sang evily, "The town is melting, what ever shall you do?"
"Wha?!" Sakura gasped, turning to her melting window.
It was true. Sakura's house wasn't the only one that was melting. Every house that Sakura could see was melting!
"Who are you?" Cerberus growled at the man.
"That is none of your concern yet." He said, glowing brighter.
Sakura turned to the man.
"Why are you doing this?" Sakura cried, tears in her eyes.
"Find me, Sa-coo-ra, and this will stop." The man replied.
Sakura whiped her eyes.
"Well then," Sakura said, reaching out and grabbing the man's shirt, "I found you!"
The man suddenly turned to ooze infront of Sakura, and spattered to the ground, covering Sakura's hand in the thick liquid.
Sakura gasped, drawing back.
The man was gone.
Tori walked into the kitchen, and gasped.
Everything in the kitchen was melting!
"What the heak?!" Tori gasped, and rushed into the middle of the kitchen.
"What's going on?!" Tori gasped.
A glob of greenish-purple ooze fell on Tori's shoulder with a plop.
Tori looked up, and saw a huge, melting hole in the ceiling, letting him see into Sakura's room.
"Sakura?" Tori gasped.
Tori could only see Sakura's upper body, the floor hiding Cerberus.
Sakura looked down and gasped.
"Cerberus! Move away form the hole!' Sakura hissed.
Cerberus flaped his wings, and floated away form the hole in the floor.
"Sakura," Cerberus said, "That man said that if we found him, this would stop."
Ooze splattered on Sakura's shoulder.
"Ah!" Sakura yelped.
"We should go and find him, Sakura." Cerberus said.
"Yeah," Sakura said, "Let's go."
Julian walked down the street, holding a large, red lolipop in his hand.
Suddenly, the lolipop melted in his hand, and splattered to the sidewalk.
"What?" Julian wondered, and turned around to see all the buildings on the entire strret were melting!
Wings suddenlyflew over Julian's bewildered face, and retracted, revealing the face of Yue.
Yue looked up, and saw two dots flying in the sky.
Yue flapped his wings, and flew up to meet them.
Yue flew up, alongside Cerberus.
"Sakura!" Yue cried, "What is happening?"
"I-um-" Sakura studdered, flying on the other side of Cerberus on the Fly Card.
Yue glanced at the huge wings that had appearred on Sakura's Star Wand.
They were glowing gold.
"Yeah. I don't know why it's glowing." Sakura said, looking back at the glowing wings.
"I beleive your friends are below us, by the trees." Yue said.
Sakura glanced glanced down to see two figures running after them, by the trees far below.
Sakura flew down at them.
Madison glanced up, and saw Sakura flying down at her and Li.
"Follow us!" Sakura cried as she swooped down at them, and then pulled up, and flew back into the sky.
Sakura flew back up to Yue and Cerberus.
"Sakura, you must find that man." Cerberus said, "he said this would stop if you found him."
"Who is this man?" Yue asked.
"We don't know yet." Cerberus replied.
Sakura stared over the melting landscape.
I had to stop this. Sakura thought.
Suddenly, she knew where he was.
"He's at King Penguin." Sakura said, and flew down, towards the park, with Cerberus and Yue beside her.
Sakura landed infront of King Penguin, who was also melting, and returned the Fly Card.
Yue and Cerberus landed behind her as Madison and Li ran up to them.
"Sakura, what's going on?!" Madison cried.
"I don't know!" Sakura cried, "But... Your camera!!"
Madison looked down at her camera.
It was melting.
"WAH!" Madison cried, throuwing her camera down with a SPLAT!
"Sakura, who did this?" Li asked.
"The guy who's inside King Penguin." Salkura replied, looking at the melting blob that had once been the big slide.
Sakura stared at the slide-blob, and got an idea.
"Yue?" She asked, turning to him, "You shot ice at me at the Final Judgement, right?"
"Yes." Yue replied.
"Can you freeze King Penguin and break it apart?" Sakura asked.
"I beleive so." Yue replied, walking up to the slide-blob.
Yue stuck his hand in the slide-blob, and King Penguin froze.
CRACK!!
Cracks in the ice spider webbed through the ice, and the frozen King Penguin shattered.
Cerberus drew his his wings over Li and Madison, protecting them from the shards of ice.
A bright golden light flashed, and Yue wa smacked right off his feet.
"Ohhh..." Yue moaned.
"Yue!" Sakura cried, kneeling down beside him.
"It's so strong..." Yue gasped, "Be careful."
Sakura looked up at the gowing light, and saw the figure in the middle of it.
Cerberus jumped over to the figure.
"Who arer you?!" Cerberus growled.
The figure smiled.
The trees around Sakura began to twist and contort.
"Watch out!" Li cried.
A huge glob of a melted tree branch splattered onto Cerberus, pinning him to the ground.
"RAWR!" Cerberus roared in shock.
Huge globs of trees splattered aroudn Sakura.
"AH!" Dakura cried, dodgeing a huge glob of the ooze.
"Wood!" Sakura cried, "Stop the trees from melting!"
Sakura hit the card with her wand.
Nothing happened.
"I-It's not working..." Madison gasped.
The Wood Card flickered, and was engulfed in a golden light, and burst into many brilliant green lights.
The lights swirled around the trees, and as they did, the trees became solid again.
"Impressive." The figure smirked, "You've stopped the trees from melting."
He lifted his fist, and opened it. A small ball tied to a string fell out of his fist, and wavered on the string. The ball slowly began to spin. It had a purple diamond-shaped stained glass thing on the bottom of the ball that spun like a propellor as the ball spun.
"But let's see what'll happen if the ground begins to melt." He sneered.
The ball flashed a golden light.
The ground suddenly contorted under Sakura's feet, and her feet were sucked into the ground.
"AHH!" Sakura heard Madison cry as her feet were were sucked into the ground as well.
Li struggled to do something, but he was also stuck in the ground.
"And," The figure contiued, "If the city melts completely, so will the people."
The figure held the ball in Madison's direction, and it flashed gold.
"AHHH!" Madison cried, "SAKURA!!"
Sakura turned to Madison and stifled a scream.
Madison's skin was sagging and running down her shirt. Madison held her hand up to her face, and screamed when her hand began to collapse into her arm.
"MADISON!" Sakura cried, and hit another card with her Star Wand.
"Earthy!" Sakura cried.
The Earthy Card hovered under her Wand for a moment, and it vanished. The ground suddenly took on a brown color for a moment, and it became solid again.
But... All of the group's feet were buried under thr ground.
"Pfft..." The figure hissed, "I thought the Mistress of the Clow would be smarter than that."
The man began to aproach Sakura.
"Nooo!" Sakura screamed, struggling to get her feet out of the ground.
"Earthy! Make a hole around my feet!" Sakura commanded.
The ground cracked between Sakura's legs, and the ground began to crumble away from Sakura's feet, freeing her.
"Jump!" Sakura screamed, hitting the card, and wings sprouting on her shoes.
Sakura knelt down, and jumped away from the approaching figure.
The man spun around, following Sakura with his eyes.
Sakura landed on a tree branch, and jumped off of it.
In my dream, King Pengin caught fire. Sakura thought, Maybe that means...
Sakura took out the Firey Card.
From the air, Sakura tossed out the Firey Card, "Firey! Attack my attacker! Release and dispell!" sakura cried, hitting the card with her Star Wand.
It seemed like forever before the card did anything.
Then, the Firey Card's true for, a young woman with gallant wings and her hair aflame, flew from the card, and turned into a huge stream of fire.
The fire slammed into the man, and billowed out, scoarching the ground.
The fire cleared, and the man was gone.
sakura fell to the ground, utterly exausted.
"Sakura!" Madison cried, running up to her.
"Madison?" Sakura cried, sitting up, "You're okay! And you're not stuck in the ground!"
"Yeah!" Madison cried, pulling Sakura up form the ground.
"Sakura?" Li asked, walking up to her, "Who was that?!"
