This
is a kitbashed model of the conjectural medical ship U.S.S.
Hippocrates as a post movie-era forerunner of the Olympic Class.
The hull number was chosen to coincide with the era of vessels
like the Ambassador Class.
The
Enterprise-B nacelles were shortened by cutting off a section of
each aft of the pylon connection.
Decals for the model, including the medical symbols, are from Web
Games.
The
model is overall Flat White. The nacelle grills are
Mat Sky Blue with a coat of Horizon Blue.
The primary hull is a 4" clear plastic sphere from a craft store.
The windows were made the same sizes and patterns as the Excelsior
Class saucer rim windows. They were gouged into the
surface of the plastic sphere with a Dremel tool. They were
painted Gloss Black.
The impulse engines are the cut-out engines from the
Enterprise-B; they were placed beside each other.
The underside cargo area has two square holes drilled to
represent return bays for recovery/emergency shuttles.
Impulse engine vents were painted with Fluorescent Red.
A Dedication Plaque was created for the vessel with a quotation
from Hippocrates— the father of modern medicine:
"...first, do no harm."
The dedication plaque for the Solace Class vessel bore a quotation
from Hippocrates— the father of modern medicine.
The few ships
of this class that were produced were specifically commissioned
by Starfleet Medical, as shown by the medical caduceus.
