This
is a model of Anubis, Ra's chief guard from the movie StarGate.
This model was built with no modifications.
The skin tone/base coat is Desert Matte Tan. Most of the
ceremonial garb is Gold,
with the shin guards and belt detailed in Silver. The
staff is also Gold.
The
tattoo on the arm was already scribed on the arm, and the
grooves were highlighted with a blue pen.
The base was spray-painted Gold, then the edges were masked off
and the center was spray-painted with a textured spray paint to
give the appearance of gravel, then dry-brushed with Armour Sand
and given another dry-brushed coat of Sand.
The
tunic is Matte Sky Blue with gold detail, and the kilt is
painted with a gloss coat of Testors Purple (lighter
shade). The rubies on the belt were painted with Stoplight
Red Metallic. The portal activation crystals on the back
of the gauntlet are done with Arctic Blue Metallic. Seam
lines on the insides of the legs were filled in using Glaze and
Spot Putty, as well as some plastic shavings that got caught in
the seam and were fixed there with glue.
The
eyes and the crystals on the tassels were also done in Arctic
Blue Metallic. The chain mail of the gauntlet was dry-brushed
Copper over top of the skin tone. The tassel colors are Matte
Sky Blue and Testors Gloss Orange. Many of the lines,
where the injection plastic missed detail, were scribed in using
an X-Acto knife. Many curse words were uttered during this
stage.
