Two patients who underwent conventional screening noncontact tonometry (NCT) were seen after screening for acute onset of floaters, resulting from posterior vitreous detachment. Neither patient had evidence of retinal holes or tears. This observation suggests that NCT rarely may induce posterior vitreous detachment.
