Here is the GWF Member of the Week for October 24th
SerpentSkirt
I am honored to accept this award from all my dear fellow flautists.
I have found membership in the Guild to be a lovely and fulfilling experience;
there are so many fine flutes, and finer flautists. A Doyenne could not ask to
hold a nicer instrument between her pillowing lips.
We stand up and out, shining beacons against the crawling, unnatural horror
of single note "musicianship"; the unskilled, ill-educated, narrow, squat, limp
attempts at "music" -- they say they value rhythm over technique. I say they
can't do better with their equipment than a dull, dense thumping.
Through the dark days of yore, when none but the one-handed banging fools
disturbed the land with their dull, poorly timed and poorly rhymed
manifestations, we have striven together, coming as one voice, one
magnificent symphony, a great release of the most glorious sound -- one
could die a little death from the ecstasy of the beautiful music we make
together.
I am proud to carry on the tradition of our guild, and hope that we can,
together, build on it, creating harmonies, melodies, and pulsing rhythms
never before heard on our beautiful planet -- music that arouses the
tenderness of dragons, pleasures even an unfeeling ghost, and brings all of
Enroth to a state of blissful satisfaction.
