Here is the GWF Member of the Week for December 19th
Bungleau
It's with great honor and humility that I accept the recognition of the members
of the Guild of the Wooden Flute as the Member of the Week. As I first
wandered onto these boards, lo these many moons ago, there were those
who stood out as beacons of light and information, providing succor to those
in need and suggestions to those in a quandary.
As I looked around, I discovered that many of these same stalwart
swordspeople and sorcerers were members of this singular organization,
this Guild of the Wooden Flute. For a long time, I thought about what it would
mean to be a member of such an august organization, and of the respect and
honor that goes with belonging. Finally, I swallowed my pride, brought forth
my courage, and asked to belong.
Once I belonged, I found that there are flautists everywhere, in places I never
expected, and they had one thing in common: the desire to help and assist
others in whatever way they could.
So it is with this mission, this challenge, in mind, that I accept the recognition
as the GWF MoW. And I will go forth, striving to carry out the mission of the
Guild by assisting others and spreading the truth of the flute for as long as
breath flows from this mortal body. May I be found to be one tenth as worthy
as those who have gone before.
