Here they are, the participants of the WILDCAT WROUNDUPII, 2001 return to Las Vegas, hosted by Dan Rich.
The event took place over October 5 - 7, 2001.
Our congradulations go to Dan for having another successful Wildcat reunion as well as George Petersen for managing the website and HTML for the event.
Thanks go out to any and all volunteers that helped Dan.
Thank you to all of the Wildcats and spouses who attended. We all look forward to hearing the stories of who won/lost the most gambling, who may have been swimming in the fountain looking for change, and how the hotel treated you in case anyone else wants to go back to the same place.
Oh yea, here is an explanation from Dan about the story on the riverboat:
"The group that went on the Sunday Brunch riverboat ride around Lake Mead was just about half of the group.
About 70 total Wildcats showed up.
The bus ride from Vegas to the lake took about
40 minutes.
It was a beautiful day, around 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.
We took the group shot and then boarded the boat.
Wildcats had almost the entire second floor.
The boat cruises across the lake and before September 11th, took passengers to within about 50 feet of the top of Hoover Dam.
Now, however, the Coast Guard had the entrance to the channel to the Dam blocked and no boats could get near it.
(This was only October 7th, after all.)
As a matter-of-fact, as we were eating, one of our classmates got a call on his cell phone from a friend who announced that the U.S. had just begun bombing
Afghanistan.
We all raised a glass of champagne."
