Black powder shooting has been around the Maritimes for more than 20 years. There are clubs in several towns in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Any black powder firearm may enter in the shoots. Most club shoots vary in types of applications but most include the following, gongs, primitive targets, shotgun and pistol. There is also hawk and knife throws and fire starting competitions. Any time period or civilians may participate and time period or modern camping is accepted. Group dinners and family styled socializing are a regular part of these events. |
