This was a hectic year for the United Kingdom countries. The current King was single - courting an American divorced woman deemed unsuitable to be a Queen of England and the country was sharply divided over the issue of the rising Nazi Germany. A freak incident threw Rachel Summers and Kitty Pryde back in time and dumped them in the middle of this violatile time. The Scottish Highlands were perhaps the last place Kitty would have expected to find him, but she and her companion (Alasdhair, Laird of Kinross) found themselves being rescued from their Nazi pursuers by Logan. |
His turning up was not an accidental encounter. He'd been told that they would be needing help and that he'd get to stomp a few Nazis in the process. Kitty's rather extensive knowledge of what he could do rather took Logan back some, but even though he kept questioning her, he didn't bother too much about worrying after the answers - too many other things going on like trying to keep himself and his charges alive. |
His ability to crop up at the right place and time to help Kitty and Kinross was explained when Logan visited his associates - Irene Adler and Raven. Considering that the 'Raven' most known for hanging around Irene is Mystique, it leads to the question if the man (seen in the picture standing behind Irene's chair) is Mystique in one of her many alter identities. The point I found intriguing in this particular panel was Logan's reference to one of Benjamin Franklin's epigrams... and the implication that he had been around to hear Ben tell it in person. |
