The two ocassionally get along about as well as a snake and mongoose, but most of the time, they can at least agree on who they should be fighting. Logan was present when Peter accidently killed a woman - and seems to consider the kid has become his responsibility to look in on now and again.
Logan: "Uh-uhnn, Squirt. Don't even kid yourself. We both know the only way for you to beat me is for you to use all your strength and snap my neck. Bang. You win. Thing is, I'm bettin' my life you ain't got the guts for that. You don't know how to kill. But, I do. All I gotta do is pop my claws up through your throat. I told you . You're in way over your head. I coulda cooled Charlie out -- stopped the killing. Now they're comin' to kill her. They'll do it slow. They'll make her suffer. I can do it quick. Stop judgin' me, you little snot. Your principles don't apply here." (Spiderman Versus Wolverine V. 1, No. 1 - February, 1987) |
Spiderman: "Now, now, boys -- you know the rules -- 'No point-blank shootings on a school night!' I want you all to go home and write, 'I'm dumb and ugly' a hundred times." Logan: "Now, that's more like it, kid!" Spiderman: "Will you stop calling me 'kid'!" Logan: "Okay, Junior!" (Web of Spiderman V. 1, No. 29 - August, 1987) |
Spiderman: "You're the real thing, aren't you? I thought you were dead." Logan: "I hear that all the time." Spiderman: "I can't believe it. Why do I always do that? This is ridiculous! Why do I always attack first? What's wrong with me? This is getting to be a really stupid habit. Do I always have to go make an idiot out of myself and pummel some unknowing dogooder without stopping to question him first? Geez, I'm impulsive. You must think I'm a real --- uh. So what's going on?" (Marvel Comics Presents V. 1, No. 48 - 1990) |
Logan: "Real mature, schoolboy." Spiderman: "Wolverine!" Logan: "You'd be face down right now if I were the bad guy. You didn't know if I was friend or foe. Why would you give me an edge? The fool who signals an enemy isn't long for this world." Spiderman: "Yeah, yeah, yeah! Thanks for the lecture, Pops. I'll have the car home by eleven. What's your problem? I've been in this business longer than you. My spider-sense told me you weren't hostile, so I thought I'd have a little fun. Speaking of which, why the old yellow and blue suit? You got a reunion to attend after?" Logan: "Couple seams came loose on the other one, so I wanted to put on something that reminded me of a time when I didn't know you!" Spiderman: "Oh! He made a funny! I think this guy has some potential." Logan: "You never stop, do you?" (Spider-Man V. 1, No. 10 - May, 1991) |
