Submission guidelines
What's this? You want to contribute? Really? This isn't a joke? Well then, I guess I can give you the guidelines...
Note: I have changed some of the submission guidelines, the changes are in parentheses right after the original guidelines. Please read them and adhere to them before submitting something, or else you'll wind up with a nice "Hey, you're gonna have to change this before I even think of posting it..." type message...
Fanfic Submission guidelines
1. Try to submit it as either a plain .txt file, or preferably as a Microsoft Word file (.doc). To be honest, I'm not too experienced in this department, but I did manage to convert my fic, so hopefully things will go well...(Okay, now I'm tons more experienced, please submit it either as a text file or a MS Word document...)
2. Include the name you want to go by, the story's title (I don't want to make a mistake, especially if you've poured your heart and soul into making a story.) If you want your e-mail address posted with the story include that too.
3. Try to keep a little low on objectionable material. I don't mind swearing, but others might, so try to keep it to a minimum. I mean, if there's one scene where a swear word just sounds a lot better then heck or darn, I'll understand, but if every other word is a swear word or something... Also, this is assumed within reason, I.E. Anything you'd hear in a PG-13 rated movie, so don't go touting around that stupid word that happens to rhyme with duck... ^^;;;
4. Have fun, be original! Get feedback! Even if you think your story is nothing special, don't let that stop you from trying to post it. I never expected anyone to like my first story, and so far I haven't heard many bad things about it.
5. Try to make it readable. I'm not saying the grammar and spelling has to be perfect. But try to make it kind of easy on the eyes... Maybe space out the paragraphs, etc. etc. (Okay, this rule has been definitely changed. Please try to keep a format similar to what's used for most fanfics on my page, or try indenting paragraphs... and although the grammar still doesn't have to be perfect, you must remember that there is a new paragraph every time someone new speaks... So please, please, PLEASE don't write a huge paragraph with five people speaking in it, those are very hard on the eyes... And whatever you do, unless you're portraying what the characters might be seeing on a screen because they're on a computer, (Don't ask me how) or you're making an author's comment at the top of your story, don't use emoticons. Heck, it's not too hard to type out the world frowned or smiled, and you can make it a lot more descriptive with words!)
6. I said it in the fanfic section, and I'll say it again, don't submit any stories with high sexual content or anything like that. As a general rule of thumb, if you wouldn't want your four year old cousin to see it, then don't send it in. If it's something that's borderline, then send it to me and I will give it a look and then decide.
7. I reserve the right to politely turn down a fic or give
a warning if I see objectional material. I'll be glad to offer my advice
on it if I do turn it down, for example, things one might do to change it and
get it submitted... I don't want to be too hypocritical about it, but if
it's a story like,
GoKKu wALked DowNN tHE sTReet aND gOT kICked in tHE NuTZ, well, I would exactly
call that a quality fic. I've got nothing against hits below the belt in
stories, (Poor Vegeta, hehehe) but if that's all the plot, then... -_-;
8. I realize this rule may not have been applied in time for the inclusion of a few fanfics, but I'd really appreciate it one of the several "common" names for the characters were used. They should be easy enough to find, just visit a site like Planet Namek, and take a peek at the bios. ^^; I didn't mind misspellings before, but they're soooo easy to fix... ^^;;;;;
Fanart submission guidelines
1. To be honest I'm not too experienced with this either, but I guess try to submit it as a Jpeg or a Gif... like I said above, the site is Namek oriented. I'll still accept a cool picture of Son Goku or something, but I might have to change that idea if I end up with fifty pics of Saiya-jins and about two pics of the Nameksei-jin...
2. Be creative, no nudity. I don't mind excessive blood and stuff like that, but other's might, so try not to make a picture of a decapitated person with one arm, no legs... you get the idea.
3. Feel free to make a picture correspond to an event in any of my fanfics, (No, I'm not saying draw pictures for my fics at all, merely that you don't have to ask my permission if you feel like drawing a character or a scene from it...) although you should always ask the author's of their stories (Or at least tell them about it) before drawing a pic about their story to submit... I doubt many people would mind, but it's always good to be safe...
Linking to me
1. I certainly don't mind if you want to link to me, I'd be honored if anyone wanted to link to my humble little, (Well, okay, I guess it has a lot of sections...) website. I do ask that you'd be so kind to inform me, and tell me about your site! I certainly would take the time to check it out if you're nice enough to link to me, and I'd almost certainly link your site to mine, although I'd hope it'd be Dragonball related, and if there's porno on it or something, well, I might have to make an exception...
Asking me to link to you
1. Okay, make sure your site has no objectionable material. I haven't actually done it yet, but I do indeed have intentions to join the group "Anti-ep", so if your site has full episodes or movies, etc. etc... well, it's nothing really personal, but that's most likely reason number one for my not linking to your site if you've asked before...
And there you have it. I don't think I'm being too dictator-esque with any of the guidelines. If you have any questions then don't be afraid to ask.
Humor submissions
1. If you want to submit a "WTRT" or something, then I'll be glad to accept it provided you haven't made it with a picture stolen from someone else... if you want to use one of the pictures in my image gallery for it, all you need to do is ask... I should say yes.
2. Obviously, there shouldn't be anything that would be bad for a child to see... maybe a bit of profanity, but other then that...
3. Like the fanart, I prefer the image would be sent in a JPEG format.
If you agree to the submission guidelines, then why not throw your work of art into the mix, be it site, story, or picture? Send all fanfics or fanart submissions to me.
