The rights of women have been neglected for years, and inevitably nurses have felt this oppression. This has changed and continues to change, but we still have a long way to go.

Nurses, as a group who are predominantly female, have the perfect opportunity to promote change and increase the publics awareness of the oppression of women. Without increased awareness, we are ignorant and people will continue to believe that this is just the way it is supposed to be. Women should aspire to do whatever makes them happy and find personal fulfillment in all endeavours.

We need to have pride in the fact that we are women.
