Feminism takes on many different forms for many different individuals.

Peggy Chinn is a well known feminist who has written the book Peace and Power: Building Communities fot the Future. She claims that "the ways of peace are rooted in women's ancient wisdom. However, much of that wisdom has been lost or obscured, but it can be found and reclaimed. In the face of modern stress, violence and destruction, people are turning to women's wisdom because it is about peace, creativity, love, respect, nurturing, growth and healing" (1995, P.2).

She goes on to describe the acronym of the word PEACE representing a commitment that guides the ways in which individuals can choose to relate to one another within the context of group process.

Obviously, the role of the nurse encompasses all of these concepts. For this reason, Peggy Chinn's work is valuable and enlightening.
