Chouja Reideen Episode 1
Hishou Toki o Koete
OP Sequence: In My Justice
In space an object flies to a planet and there's an explosion. A
pod opens from it, and Lúci appears. The first Demon of The Day
appears, and they begin to speak about Reideen, while looking at the
earth.
A bird flies overhead and a feather flutters down. Ace, on top of a
building, watches, then jumps down.
The feather goes down past a hospital window where Hishou reads to
his comatose girlfriend, Ruri. Hishou leaves... Flashback
Ruri and Hishou are on the roof of a school talking. She gets up on
the barrier of the edge of the roof and walks along it. A gust of
wind blows her off the roof.
Hishou is on a roof and sees the feather. An eye opens on it and
shows him a vision of space.
Condor and Lúci are fighting, while Hishou observes. The other
Reideen come and help. An attack goes astray and almost gets
Hishou. A Reideen catches him from a fall and then explains what is
going on. He says 'I am you'. The feather appears and tries to
touch him, but he fights it off.
A young girl's voice snaps him from the vision, and his 6 year old
sister Tsubasa is there. He gives her a piggy-back ride away. Ace
jumps down and looks after them, and calls Hishou Reideen Eagle.

A bunch of people are waiting to see a Kirari concert. The DOTD walks
down the street destroying things, but people can't see him.
He sees Kirari and notes the jewel she wears. He goes into the
concert building.
Reiko stops Hishou on the street, but Hishou won't listen and
leaves. Ace comes up to Reiko, and they talk.
Hishou and Tsubasa are at the concert, waiting for it top begin.
Hishou doesn't know who she is, and Tsubasa calls her an angel.
The lights go down and Kirari comes up through the stage.
Hishou is shocked to see she looks like Ruri.
The demon comes after the brooch and Kirari runs away frightened.
Hishou goes to help her, he and Kirari being the only two to see the
chouma.
Kirari drops the brooch and the chouma picks it up, but it isn't
what he wanted, but goes after her anyway. Kirari goes to the
roof.
Hishou bashes the chouma over the head, but it's unaffected, He
attacks Hishou, then goes after Kirari again.
Hishou opens his eyes and sees the feather glowing.
Kirari falls off the building when a gust of wind comes. As she
screams, Hishou grabs the feather and transforms to Reideen Eagle.
He catches her just in time, and then fights the chouma. The demon
powers up and Eagle uses Raging Fire Punch. He then pulls out Eagle
sword and destroys the chouma.
Lúci watches from a safe distance.
Ace and Reiko watch as well.
ED sequence: Q
We recently got an email from Sasha, who cleared some things up in this episode. What she wrote is as follows:
In space an object flies to a planet and there's an explosion. A pod opens
from it, and Lúci appears. The first Demon of The Day appears, and they begin
to speak about Reideen, while looking at the earth.
They speak about God Reideen, and that how they want to make him appear again
by attacking the earth.
A bird flies overhead and a feather flutters down. Ace, on top of a building,
watches, then jumps down.
The feather goes down past a hospital window where Hishou reads to his
comatose girlfriend, Ruri.
Ace says "Who are you searching?", speaking to the feather. It seems that the
feather itself is looking for Reideen Eagle, and will lead him to him.
Later, when Hishou is with Ruri, he reads a newspaper article to her about a
mysterious meteor (on the photo he's holding), which is, of course, Luci and
the chouma. The meteor showed unnatural behaviour and disappeared altogether,
and there is a humorous reference to aliens. "Well," Hishou says, "if they're
really aliens, things would get interesting around here. You should better open
your eyes soon." When she doesn't, he flinches.
Ruri and Hishou are on the roof of a school talking. She gets up on the
barrier of the edge of the
roof and walks along it. A gust of wind blows her off the roof.
From what I got from listening to the dialogue twice, Ruri is somewhat jealous
of Hishou and his tight bonds to his family (she mentions his "kawaii" sister
Tsubasa on one occasion). It seems that she is currently facing family
problems, (or so I think) and she wished for wings to escape her life and fly
away to some other place. She says "tsubasa ga hoshii" before she falls off the
roof - "I wish I had wings." Hishou later repeats this during the vision when
he meets his future self, and when before he transforms into Reideen Eagle for
the first time to save Kirari.
...astray and almost gets Hishou. A Reideen catches him from a fall and then
explains what is going on.
He says 'I am you'.
The whole line is "I am you. I am what you will become." He also explains how
he must fight the enemy to protect God Reideen from the chouma, and explains
that soon, the earth will face an attack from outer space, which only he can
prevent from happening. Your basic superhero "call to arms" speech. :-)
A young girl's voice snaps him from the vision, and his 6 year old sister
Tsubasa is there. He gives her a piggy-back ride away.
He promised her to bring her obento (food), but he forgot. :->
He sees Kirari and notes the jewel she wears.
The jewel is called the "zodiac".
Reiko stops Hishou on the street, but Hishou won't listen and leaves. Ace
comes up
to Reiko, and they talk.
Actually, Reiko has no idea who Hishou is and tries to pick him up. :-) Hishou
refuses, and she's pissed. "Man, he's got an ego." It's only then that Ace
explains that he is one of them.
Hishou and Tsubasa are at the concert, waiting for it top begin.
Hishou doesn't know who she is, and Tsubasa calls her an angel.
Tsubasa actually says "she's as beautiful as an angel".
Kirari drops the brooch and the chouma picks it up, but it isn't what he
wanted, but goes after her
anyway. Kirari goes to the roof.
The chouma thinks that Kirari must be more intelligent than her hysterically
squeeking self. Monsters ALWAYS make that mistake with cute girls. :-) He
suspects that she may have hidden the real zodiac somewhere else. I'm not so
sure about that one, I'll have to watch it again to be sure.
later she took another look at the show and said--
Scratch the part where I said that the chouma suspected Kirari of possessing
the real zodiac. Must have been superimposed by me. Here's what really happens:
When the monster jumps on stage, Hishou and Kirari are the only ones who can
see it. Hishou is reminded of his vision, and wonders whether this is one of
the "chouma" his future self was talking about.
When the chouma hunts Kirari to the elevator, and the fake zodiac drops to the
floor, he notices it's not what he was looking for. Kirari is unusually
determined and steady for a normal girl, however. "I made it. But I have to
hold on."
When the chouma corners her on the roof, he snickers: "Normal people cannot see
me. But you can. I wonder why this is so, ne?" This is why he is still
following her - he is intrigued. Then Hishou bashes him over the head, and asks
him whether he is one of the "chouma". "How do you know about that?" the
monster asks him, and smashes him against the wall.
Hishou has a flashback to a time he and Ruri were in the school library,
talking.
"There are so many stories, aren't there," she says.
"Uhm."
"It seems like everything has been written in here."
"Is something worrying you?"
"I wonder whether there's a story just about me?
"If there is something I can do, just tell me."
At least, that's what I THINK they're saying. :-) Damn, what that chouma says
is MUCH easier to translate ;-)))))
"I... Isn't there something I can do? Anything?" Hishou mumbles. Ace's voice
snaps him out of it, as the feather tumbles down towards him again.
"There is something you can do. Something only we can do. You can become a
Reideen."
Meanwhile, Kirari nearly falls down the side of the building.
"Well, accept it already! Take the God Phaser!" (This is what the feather is
called, and what Ace calls it in the very first scene, BTW)
Hishou transforms, fights the chouma yadda yadda testosterone
He also says "This body seems to remember how to fight!" Well, what a way to
explain the flashy moves.. ;-)
Luci watches from afar, and chuckles. "My my, those Reideen are a nuissance.
But once I've got the Zodiac, they won't stand a chance." Or something to that
effect. :-)
Ace and Reiko also watch the scene
Ace: "It looks like Reideen Eagle has finally awakened."
Reiko: "It'll get more lively now that it's not just us. This will be fun."
