Lily the tiny lamb
Once upon a time there was
a tiny little lamb called Lily. Lily was so tiny the farmer had to
make a special little wooden box for her to stand on when she fed from
her mother. Her mother was very protective of her and bent down low
on the ground so her little Lily could climb up and ride on her back.
All the other lambs in the paddock were growing and growing and little
Lily remained tiny. She was hardly bigger than a hedgehog! Even though
the other lambs took turns at carrying her feeding box and some of the
other mothers let Lily ride on their backs Lily felt sad. She wanted
to be like the other lambs who frolicked in the paddock and jumped over
one another. Although Lily's mother loved her little daughter dearly she
wished too that Lily would grow and be like the other lambs. She
knew her milk was rich and creamy and had made her other children grow
big and strong. She could not understand why Lily was so tiny. But
day followed day and Lily remained so small !
people drove out from town
especially to look over the fence and catch a glimpse of her. Her
photo was in the paper. It was all rather embarassing for Lily. The rest
of the story is unknown because it hasn't happened yet. Sequels are
to follow.
