John Morriscey was born on the 20th of November 1859 in Portuguese Cove, Nova Scotia. He died on the 9th of April 1921 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was the son of William and Nancy (nee unknown) Morriscey. He married Emily J. Brown on the 18th of September 1882 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was born on the 21st of April 1867 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She died on the 9th of August 1934 in St. Margaret's Bay, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of William Brown and Mary Elizabeth Jones.
