As flea marketing season is a huge part of my summer, I felt it necessary to catalog the various items that I have purchased. After all if I don’t do so, how will I make you all jealous over my huge finds like Lite-Brites or Giant Papa Smurf stuffies?

G.I. Joe figures - Flint, Gung-Ho, Dr. Mindbender, Buzzer - $12
This was just weird, as I was going through was Joes a few days before and was thinking how the versions of these figures that I had were broken or later versions that didn’t appear on the TV show. Then just like that, there they are at a great price. Yo Joe!
Mr. T Puzzle - $2
I worked the guy down from $6 to $2 for this puzzle. A small price to pay for anything Mr. T related.
Comics - $22
Some great issues of Amazing Spiderman, X-Factor, New Mutants, X-Force, and Iron Man. I was going to haggle for a few issues, but the guy explained that it was for charity, so I didn’t mind. Plus his three year old son knew all the words to the original Transformers cartoon. I was impressed.
T-1000 figure - $2
Man I hate vendors! I had never actually seen the exploding T-1000 at a flea market before, so I sold quickly. I continued looking at his table and found a Phantasm figure, from 1993’s Batman: Mask of the Phantasm animated movie. I asked how much the loose figure was, and he responded $10, to which I laughed at him. He got out his price guide and showed me the figure was worth $40. I overlooked how asinine it was for him to have a price guide, and explained that that price was for a figure MOC, and his guy didn’t even have the accessories other than the mask. He moved down to $8, but there was no way in hell I’d pay that. Mind you, I couldn’t let this rest, so I went on eBay and proceded to buy a carded Phantasm figure with a Batman and Joker two pack MOC, for $5 US. I think I should take the carded figure with me next time we go to Penhorn, and mock him with it. Wow, this rant was nothing to do with T-1000. Well, the figure is cool, and it explodes!
Baron Zemo figure - $1
This Zemo is from the 1984 Secret Wars line, even though Zemo was not involved in the Beyonder’s awesome war. It was great to buy this guy, because its the second time I purchased him, as last time he was in a grab bag, and I didn’t realize he was missing an arm. Oh well! (in Aunt Martha voice)
G.I. Joe Lite-Brite Refills - $3
Sure I still have these from when I was a kid, and even if I didn’t still have them, I found some last year. But these ones came with the package! Yeah, I’m nuts!
Basewars Nintendo Game - $2
I was really pleased with this purchase, as Basewars is one heck of a fun game. These just something about robots fighting each other with swords and lazer guns in a baseball game that makes for some good clean fun. Sadly, similar games would never be released, so our robot baseball mayhem would be limited to this one.

WWF “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan Foam 2x4 - $1
I still can’t get over this one. A circa 1988 Jim Duggan foam 2x4 in beautiful condition. It looks like it was made yesterday. I was never a big Duggan fan, but hey, this is a great find. I actually was so excited that I almost gave away my lack of ignorance on the product, but the guy either didn’t notice or didn’t care. Either that or he amused by somebody getting excited over foam. Hoooooooooooooooooooo!
Alvin and the Chipmunks videos - $2
I don’t really buy VHS tapes anymore, but man do I love the Chipmunks. The videos are Schools Out For Summer and Rockin’ with the Chipmunks, featuring Michael Jackson. Ugh! Make your tasteless jokes here.
McDonalds Batman Returns Penguin Cup - $0.25
This cup features Oswald Cobblepot’s ill-fated run for mayor. Nothing makes me thirstier than the thought of him in his underpants eating raw fish, or him biting that guy’s nose. He’s got my vote!
Well, there you have it, another two successful flea market campaigns. Who knows what the future will bring? X-Men figures? ALF plates? Dead Sea Scrolls? You’ll have to tune in to find out!!!
