The way I see it, there are many things that make wrestling entertaining. The characters, storylines, promos, and matches have made it part of my life since I was 4 years old.
Many matches are better than others, but the term wrestling can be pretty broad, as there have been numerous matches that have been entertaining, but haven’t always had great wrestling. Matches like Hell in a Cell or TLC come to mind quickly, as they don’t feature much mat wrestling, but are still exciting to watch. And that’s not to say that a basic mat wrestling is always exciting either, as it can tend to bore the average chairshot needing fan.
I don’t think that I would do as good a job on reporting matches as more experienced internet columnists, but I can report on what I find entertaining.
Enter the Kamala rating system. The idea is to evaluate matches based on how entertained I am as opposed to just wrestling action. As we all know, Kamala wasn’t the greatest wrestler, but he was entertaining to watch. Frankly I mark out anytime I see him in a match, and super mark out the last 2 times he’s been live on WWE television.
The idea is that I will evaluate the match on various aspects, coming down to how much I enjoyed the match overall. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, but that should be assumed anyway, after all, it is my site.
It works like a basic five star system, with 5 Kamalas being incredibly entertaining, and 1 Kamala being boring. That’s not to say that that matches can’t receive lower than 1 Kamala, as we all know the horror of Mae Young. Enjoy!
