Three years ago, Meilin appeared about the time when Sakura and Li had captured between 1/3 and 1/2 of the Clow Cards. At first she was very pushy, stubborn, and always seemed to be hanging off of Li. When she found out she had to return to Hong Kong for a while however, she proved that deep inside she was a kind person who cared about her friends. She returns in Episode 13 of the GemCaptor series, and finds that her martial arts skills will once again come into play. Later on in Episode 35, she will discover she actually had magical powers all along. She and Sakura get along, despite their differences once in a while. However, because of her new love for the theater, she moreless gets along with Madison, who is helping her secretly get Li and Sakura together.
Role in GemCaptor Chronicles
Even though she now has a boyfriend in Hong Kong, Meilin seriously missed being with everyone in Reidenton. So after a lot of convincing and pleading, her family finaly agreed to let her return. With Meilin back, the group is much bigger and warmer. She played a major role in the captures of Thunder, Fight, Agility, and Shot. However, it was Meilin who recieved Fight and Shot, which seemed confusing at first because she had no magical powers. The mystery was solved in episode 35 when her own special powers given to her by Clow Reed came out from within. Her main element is fire, which makes sense because she has a similar personality. She loves hanging out with Aquilia and Madison these days.
