CardCaptors
The GemCaptors Chronicles

Last Time on CardCaptors . . .

      “Who is she?”
Last time, life was dull for the CardCaptors gang until Sakura began having strange dreams which later turned out to be premonitions. Sakura did a reading using the Sakura Cards, to reveal a strange person would appear soon with similar powers to her. As they wished for a more exciting life, Li makes the decision to return his robes back to his hometown.
     “Li! Sakura!”
On their way to the post office, Sakura, Li, and Madison were attacked by a strange force which took on the form of vines. IT was strong, as Li was not able to stop it with his sword, nor could Sakura summon her Sealing Wand in time. A strange woman appeared, who resembled the Wood Card somewhat, and commanded the vines to tighten. As they became ensnared, and as the vines constricted around them, a strange voice was heard.
“Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!”
A strange girl appeared, who summoned a giant firebird to save the others.
“That’s the girl from my dream!”
When she became trapped herself by the vines, Sakura leaped into battle and saved her using the Sword Card. The girl then used her crossbow to seal the strange woman, but instead of a card, a green gem was left behind.
“We want answers. Who are you?” “I am not a foe, I am an ally. You don’t have to fear me or my powers.”
Before Sakura, Li, and Madison could get the answers they desired, the strange girl disappeared into the shadows. The three concluded that it looked like there would now be a new mission to take on; finding out all they can about the girl and the mysterious gems.

Episode Two

Storm Arising

     “I wonder who that was . . .” “I would like to know . . .” “I’ve never seen someone who looks like her before . . .”
Sakura, Li, and Madison had just arrived at Li’s house. Not too long ago, the three were in the grasp of a strange woman, who was able to manipulate a barrage of vines. As they became trapped, a mysterious girl appeared and saved them. Sakura recognized her from a strange dream she had the day before, and as well, all three realized she was the one in the card’s reading. The girl then sealed the woman into a gem form, then disappeared before answering any of their questions. This left the three asking many questions. “She seemed to have magic powers, like you Sakura.” “What if she’s like Eriol, in that she’s really evil?” “Or what if she’s a CardCaptor too?” “How can she be a CardCaptor, when the woman turned into a gem when sealed?” “Well then maybe a . . .GemCaptor or something?” “Makes sense . . .” “All I know is that we should find out as soon as possible who she is.” “Yeah, but let’s put it aside for tomorrow.” “Oh right, the Autumn Festival’s tomorrow!” “I can’t wait to go!” “It should be fun. I’m gonna sing!” “Well then we’ll expect it to be a great performance, seeing as you’re the best singer in the school!” “You really think so?” “Of course! If you weren’t the best, would the Song Card have copied your voice?” “You have a point there Sakura.” “Well, I’m going to go home. Dad will get worried if I’m not back from school in time.” “Really though. My mom will worry too. Well, see you both later.” “Bye!” Madison and Sakura then walked off, and Li walked into the house.
As Sakura walked home by herself, she stopped for a moment to remove her pendant from around her neck. She held it in front of her face and watched as it swayed slowly back and forth. She then sighed to herself sadly as she remembered the situation not too long ago.
“Hang on!” The three struggled as they were ensnared by the vines of the strange woman. As Madison went limp, they heard a strange chant coming from one of the buildings near by.
“Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!”
Sakura then remembered the firebird appearing. It breathed a wave of flames which burned the vines to ash, freeing herself, Li, and Madison. Suddenly, a girl appeared and rescued Madison. She then told them to run.
     “This isn’t a Clow Card!”
The girl then attacked the woman, and she became trapped as well. Sakura rushed in to save her, then the girl saved her. The woman was then attacked by the firebird, and the girl sealed her into a small green gem.
     “Who are you?”
     “I am an ally.”
The girl then leapt up onto one of the buildings, and then leapt out of sight. Madison, Sakura, and Li were left wondering who she was and what she wanted. The three then walked away.
Sakura stared at her pendant for a few moments longer, before placing it back around her neck and out of sight underneath her shirt. She then sighed to herself and continued down the street. “Whoever she is . . .I hope she is telling the truth . . .that she’s on our side . . .”
Far in the distance, the radio tower stood tall as usual and shone ever so brightly. In the background, the moon was completely full and the stars were sparking like the many lights in the city. The wind blew across the sky, leading toward the girl who had saved the three from the woman’s vines. She was holding the gem which appeared after the woman disappeared, and staring at it for a long period of time. “We were right my friend . . .they’ve all fled here.” A small blue coloured bird, who was perched on her shoulder, nodded then looked to the gem as well. “It was a miracle that this is where you had to move.” “Tell me about it. I am still sorry for accidentally sending them here though . . .” “It’s alright. You had no idea what you were getting yourself into.” “Yeah, you’re right . . .I wonder why they fled to this small city though . . .” “Honestly, I have no idea. I do not know everything about the nature of the gems remember.” The girl then stood up from the ground and looked out toward the tower. Her slitted skirt blew in the breeze, as did her long brown hair. “That girl and that boy . . .they were CardCaptors weren’t they?” “Yes they were. Remember the girl used the Sword Card.” “Clow Cards . . .but they looked different somehow . . .” The bird flapped her wings then began to fly up from off the shoulder. “We must be careful. The CardCaptors don’t seem to trust you that much.” “Why must I keep my identity secret any way? Hiding my face doesn’t help them in trusting me and my mission.” “It’s only for now young one. When the time comes, then you will let them know who you are.” “I guess so . . .this place is so new to me . . .and so are the people.” “You will get used to it. There are many more gems to capture . . .” “How many more?” “Very many. There are more gems then Clow Cards. I will go out and look for them. You should go home before your father starts worrying.” “You’re right. I’ll see you later then.” The bird then flew off toward the west, while the girl and ran toward the edge of the building to the east. She leapt off of the edge of the building and onto the next until she was out of sight.
Later, Sakura was finishing up some homework for Math Class. She rubbed her eyes, and then yawned as she closed her books and placed her pencil back in a dish with the rest of her pencils and pens. Kero was sitting on the window sill staring at the sky. She looked over to him and smiled. “What are you looking at Kero?” “The moon . . .I got a strange feeling . . .” “What do you think it is?” “I think Yue is coming back.” “So that must mean Julian is returning from his vacation to London?” “Possibly. Does he know yet about Yue?” “Not a clue . . .we should tell him soon right?” “Yeah. Sakura . . .there’s also another strange feeling . . .it feels like Yue’s energy . . .only it’s Star Power . . .” “Star Power? Like mine?” “Yeah . . .only more powerful . . .”
“What do you think it could be?” “I have no clue . . .right now.” “Okay Kero. By the way, you can’t come with us tomorrow.” “WHAT!? But it’s the Autumn Festival!” “Don’t you remember what happened last year at the Autumn Festival? You almost blew your cover!” “But there was pudding . . .” Kero then sobbed and started to cry. He then shook his head back and forth rapidly, and waved his arms up and down rapidly as well. “I WANNA GO! I WANNA GO!” “No Kero!” “What’s going on in there Sakura?”
Sakura suddenly shrieked as she knew Tori must have heard either Kero or herself. She suddenly grabbed Kero and stuffed him into one of the drawers. Tori then walked in and looked around. “Why do I always hear voices coming from your room Squirt?” “Tori!” She then turned around and hastily thought of a good excuse. “You . . .heard my stereo! We were at Li’s house before I came home, and we recorded what we each sound like when we were singing.” “But I heard arguing.” “Li and I got into an argument over who sounded better. It must have recorded by accident.” “Whatever Squirt. Dad days lights out in 15 minutes.” “Okay, good night Tori.” He then closed the door, and Sakura quickly rushed over to place her ear against it. When she was sure he was gone, she leaped over her bed and opened the drawer. Kero flew out quickly and began flailing his entire body around in the air. “WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?” “That’s the exact reason you’re not going to the Autumn Festival.” “Oh please can I go tomorrow?” “NO!” “Fine, you’re no fun Sakura . . .” “Well, you almost blew it in here . . .so you’re not going. I’ll tell you about it when I get home tomorrow evening.” “Okay . . .but bring me home some food?” “No problem. As long as you be good.” “Deal.” He then flew down and held out his small paw. Sakura then took it with two of her fingers, and they shook to agree. She then crawled into bed and turned off the lamp by her bed. She then closed her eyes and went to sleep.
Kero sat on the window sill for a few moments, but then decided he needed some fresh air. He opened the window carefully, then flew out as his body began to glow. Closing it, he transformed into his true form as Keroberos, then flew over to carefully set down onto their roof. He then sat down and looked up at the moon. “There’s myself as the Guardian of the Clow Cards and Sakura’s mentor . . .and I represent the sun. Yue passes judgment, and he represents the moon. I know there’s a third out of us . . .they must represent the stars . . .because of the existence of the Star Power.” He then looked up at the moon and frowned.
He then recalled a time long ago, when the Clow Cards were still new to the world. Clow Reed placed each card into the small hole in the Clow Book, then closed it shut. Kero, in his true form, and Yue were standing on both sides of him, watching as he sealed it shut, then began casting a spell. “What is the purpose of this spell Clow Reed?” “So not just anyone can get to the Clow Cards. Only a certain one, chosen by fate, may break the seal and use these cards. Yue will judge that person when the time comes. Now I need a guardian, that is why I have brought you here, Keroberos.” “But I’m not worthy of such a position. Why not choose my friend, Aquilia?” “She has already been chosen by my brother. You are worthy enough for the task at hand. Yue is the moon, and if the chosen one passes his judgment, they will get Star Power. You have sun energy, so you are perfectly suited.” “Very well Clow Reed.” “By my decree, you are hereby appointed as the Guardian Beast of the Seal. You’re energy will be linked with your Sun Power, as well as the Fiery Card and Earthy Card. Should those two cards become lost, you’re powers will decrease.” “I understand Clow Reed. I am ready for the mission at hand.”
Kero looked back up at the moon, and sighed to himself as a tear rolled down the side of his face to land on one of the shingles of the roof. “Aquilia . . .my best friend . . .I miss you.”
The next morning, Sakura threw on a blue turtleneck and a black skirt. She as well, put red ribbons in her hair, and made sure to wear the Star Key in case she needed it. She then pulled on a pair of socks and headed downstairs. “I’m ready to go Tori!” “It’s about time Squirt!” He was wearing a white shirt with a black shirt over it, and blue jeans. “Well these things take time. I’m not gonna wear just ANYTHING to the Autumn Festival.” “Yeah, Whatever. You’re friends should be getting here very soon.” “This is going to be great!”
There was suddenly a knock on the door. Sakura ran off to answer it. Madison and Li were standing there, both very excited. Madison was wearing a pale yellow shirt with blue jeans. Her hair was tied into two ponytails, both being held by green ribbons. She was carrying with her a large picnic basket. Li was wearing a brown shirt with black buttons, and blue jeans. He as well wore black shoes and a watch on his left wrist. Sakura smiled then called Tori out. She then pulled her shoes onto her feet and headed out the door. “Let’s get going!” “Yeah!” “I hope it’s like last year!” The three then raced off down the driveway, and then down the street. Tori raced out the door, trying to put his wallet into his pocket as he ran. “Hey! Wait up you three!”
Sakura skidded to a stop at the street corner when she heard Tori’s call, causing Li to stop, but unfortunately he slammed into her, causing them both to fall. Madison tried to stop, but she tripped over Li’s foot, causing her to fall and land on both of them. Tori ran over and laughed when he saw the three on the ground. “I asked you three to wait, but no . . .you had to rush ahead. Besides, how do you plan to get into the grounds without your tickets?” “He’s got a point there. Umm . . .think you two can let me up?” “When Madison gets up.” “I can’t get up! My foot is stuck under Sakura’s arm!” “I can’t move my arm!” “You three are crazy!” Tori then kneeled down and lifted up Madison, so Li was able to stand up. Sakura then began lifting herself up off the ground, but then Li helped her up until she was on her feet. Madison then picked up the basket and smiled. “Thanks Tori.” “No problem, even though it’s fun to see the Squirt fall flat on her face.” “Tori!” “I’m just kidding! Come on, let’s get going so we can have some fun.” “Yeah!” As the four ran off, Sakura suddenly stopped as her eyes widened. Li skidded to a stop and turned around to see her scanning the sky. “Are you okay Sakura?” “I thought I heard something . . .like thunder.” “Thunder? Can’t be. The forecast called for a beautiful day.” “Yeah, I guess you’re right.” “Come on. Madison and Tori are already pretty far ahead.” “WHAT!? I’ll show him who’s the master of speed!” The two then raced off, with one trying to beat the other. Up in the sky were Sakura was searching, a small could appeared and flashed with lightning before disappearing again.
Back on the ground, Li and Sakura had just caught up with Madison and Tori at the top of the Tetsu Temple. He was just taking out the tickets from his pocket, when Madison showed the other two what was in the picnic basket. Sakura looked and giggled. “Kero is going to be mad if he finds out we had pudding without him!” “Really though. We better not say a word.” “That’s right.” “Okay you three, I have our tickets. Let’s head inside.” They all nodded then headed to the door. Tori then handed the man in the booth their tickets, which the man ripped in half and handed back. Sakura smiled as she received hers, then grabbed Madison and Li. “We’ll see you later at supper, okay Tori?” “Yeah, sure but-” “See ya!” The three then ran off, laughing the entire time. Tori stood there alone and smiled as he watched them. “Thirteen year olds, totally impulsive.” “You can say that again!” Tori gasped then turned around quickly to see a familiar face running up the stairs to the temple.
It was Julian, and with him, he carried a small bag full of food. Tori smiled and waved. “Hey Julian! How was your trip!” “It was a blast. Got to do so much!” “That’s great.” Julian then walked over to stand in front of him, and then the two shook hands. “Anything exciting happen lately in good old Reidenton?” “Not much, gonna show around this new girl in town tonight. She’s only been here about a week I think.” “Good. How is Sakura and her friends?” “They’re fine, though they ran off somewhere before you showed up.” “I’ll probably run into them later.” “You’ll see Madison at least. She’s singing in the talent show.” “That will defiantly be worth seeing. I’ve been told she’s very good.” “That’s right.” “Well, let’s go do something. I’m bored already.” “Are you sure you don’t want to eat first?” The two then laughed, then walked off talking about Julian’s vacation while deciding what to do first.
Near the other side of the temple ground, Sakura and Madison were watching Li as he tried to win a game of chance. Sakura stood beside him, while Madison recorded the entire attempt with her video camera. Li gripped the baseball as he looked toward the six milk bottles stacked to form a triangle. “Either one of you got your eye on any of the stuffed animals?” “If it’s okay, I would like that dalmatian toy.” “I’ll try my best.” Li, smiled, thinking he could this the opportunity to impress Sakura. He gripped the ball, then tossed it with all of his might. It hit the bottles and all six fell over to hit the ground. Sakura clapped and Madison cheered. “Way to go Li!” Li then received the dalmatian, then turned and handed it to Sakura. “I believe you asked for this one.” “Yeah. Thanks a lot Li.”
As Li nodded, there was suddenly a loud thunderclap. which seemed to shake the earth. Madison cried out as she looked around in the sky, still manning her video camera. Dark clouds were quickly gathering, bring with them loud thunder. Just then, a large bolt of lightning crashed down, colliding with a tree. Sparks flew everywhere after impact as the tree burned. Sakura and Li gasped looking back up. “Think it’s a Clow Card?” “But . . .we have Thunder and Storm!” “Maybe it’s like that woman we encountered last night.” If that’s the case, then we have to find what’s causing it before someone gets hurt!” “Let’s go!” The two then ran off, while Madison hid near a tree. She continued taping the entire situation as the thunder rumbled in the sky.
“Key of Star . . .Release!”
“Force, know my flight! Release the light!”
Sakura and Li suddenly came running forward, holding their weapons. She then threw out a card and slammed it with her wand. “Jump! Release and dispel!” Small white wings appeared on her feet, and she leaped up into the air to land atop of a tall tree. She looked around, then up at the sky as rain suddenly began pouring down from the clouds. Suddenly, there was a loud roar, followed by another bolt of lightning which struck the tree Sakura was standing on. She leaped off, but was caught off balance by the lightning. She fell toward the ground, but Li moved in quickly and caught her before she hit. Li then fell to the ground, but in his mind he was glad to be able to save Sakura. “Are you okay?” “I”m fine, thanks for the catch Li.” He lifted her back up so she was able to get to her feet. As the rain poured down, the two searched the area, keeping their senses sharp incase of anything. “It’s too powerful for a Clow Card . . .” “You really think so Li?” “They’re not that aggressive, even if they wanted you out of the way so they could be free. They do value human life somewhat.” “What should we do?” “Fight it . . .and attempt to seal it. It might be some strange Clow Card . . .if that . . .”
Suddenly, Sakura was knocked away by a huge gust of wind. She went flying and slammed into a tree, back first. Li cried out when he saw the impact, but then was knocked off his feet by the same wind. Li looked up to see a large griffin hovering in the sky. It was a dark shade of blue with a black beak. It looked down upon the two, then cried out into the sky, causing another lightning bolt to strike down just as Li rose to his feet. Sakura quickly raced over and pushed Li out of the way, letting them both miss the attack. They hit the ground and slid a few feet before getting back up onto their feet. “It’s not one of our cards. I would recognize the energy it’s giving off.” “Yeah, same here. What should we do?” “I guess we should keep it from hurting any innocent people!” “You’re right. Let’s try to lead it away.” “I got just the card for the job.” Sakura smiled then pulled out the Fly Card. She tossed it out and slammed it with her Sealing Wand. She then hopped onto her staff and pulled Li onto it. “Hang on tight!” The two the flew up into the sky, away from the temple grounds. The griffin noticed, then launched a bolt of lightning from it’s wings. It collided with the back of the wand, causing the wings to disappear. Sakura panicked, then threw out another card, which she slammed with her wand. “Windy!” A large gust of wind appeared, which caught the two and carefully placed them on the ground. They let out a sigh of relief, but then panicked again as they saw the griffin diving down at them.
     “Begone vile creature!”
A discus of light appeared and attacked the griffin, but it was able to stop before it flew by. The two looked over to see Yue walking out of the darkness. “You two need a hand?” “Yeah! Welcome back Yue!” “Let’s take care of this monster.” He placed his arms together to gather energy, but the griffin quickly responded, by sending down a bolt of lightning, which hit him dead on. Yue cried out and dropped to his knees, then Sakura cried out and ran over to him. “Are you okay!?” “Get back Sakura! It’s ready to attack again!” Sure enough as she looked, the griffin screeched into the sky, then dove down toward the two. It spread out it’s wings, which seemed to reflect light. That told them the feathers were razor sharp, and it could cut them up pretty badly.
     “Fiery! Shatter and dispel!”
Suddenly, from out of no where, the firebird they saw the night before appeared in the sky, and sent a stream of flames down at the griffin. It was hit, causing it to fall to the ground. Li, Yue, and Sakura looked around, then looked up at the trees to see the girl standing at the top, her hair blowing in the breeze. She leaped down and landed on both feet. “You three, get out of here now!” “No way!” “I mean it! Get out of here before you get hurt!” “NO!” “Don’t say I didn’t warn you then.”
The girl frowned, then faced the griffin, who was just climbing to it’s feet. She then tossed up a green gem and started spinning around. “Amazon Gem . . .” She then stopped as energy began swirling around her. She pointed her crossbow to the sky and fired a white arrow. “Shatter and dispel!” The gem shattered as the arrow hit, causing a sparking green light to appear. It then formed into the woman they encountered the night before, who shot out a barrage of vines to ensnare the griffin. It became totally immobile, and then the girl smiled as she pointed her crossbow at it. “Storm Gem! Return to your power confined!” She fired the arrow, which flew across the ground with grace. Right before it struck the griffin, the arrow bursted into a white light, which surrounded the creature. The griffin then became a mass of energy as well, which merged with the light. Both disappeared, leaving behind a small, dark blue gem with the image of a griffin atop a small storm cloud. It fell to the ground, bounced once, then went over to the girl, who caught it and looked at the image. She then turned to walk away.
“Hold it!” Sakura then summoned the Shield Card, which formed a giant dome to surround and incase herself, Li, Yue, and the girl. She turned around and frowned, for her eyes were still hidden by the blue eye mask on her face. “What do you want?” “We want answers!” “You cannot have them yet!” “Why not!?” “It’s not time!” “Says who?” “Says the Guardian Beast of the Stars!”
Yue gasped, then narrowed his eyes as he leaned back to go into a battle stance. His wings spread out fully to both sides, then up to show their true size. He then removed a bow and an energy arrow. “Then tell us, who is the Guardian Beast of the Stars?” “I am not allowed to say. Now let me go! I must return the Storm Gem to the Guardian Beast!” “Gems!?” “We won’t let you go until you answer our questions!” “No! Remove the shield CardCaptor!” “No!” “You asked for it then!” The girl then leaped up into the air and then came down at Sakura. She slammed her shoulder against her, causing Sakura to stumble and fall. Li cried out, then rushed over to try and help, but Yue grabbed and held him by the shoulders. “No Li. Sakura has to fight on her own until I say so.” “But she’s getting hurt!” “I’m aware of that, but this is fate. She has to do this. When I say so, you rush in and aid her.” “Fine . . .whatever you say Yue, but I don’t like it.” “I don’t either, but I have a theory . . .and if she can hold her own here, she’ll be able to handle future situations . . .”
Sakura climbed to her feet, but was knocked down by the girl back to the ground. She was stunned for a second, but reacted quickly and used a sweep kick to knock the girl to the ground. Sakura then jumped up and leaped away to put some distance between herself and her opponent. The girl suddenly leaped up from the ground and charged at her, but Sakura was quick to react. She tossed out a card and slammed her wand against it. “Jump!” Small wings appeared on her feet and she leaped up into the sky. The girl stumbled from the shock, then Sakura came down and landed on her. She then jumped off, causing the girl to fall forward and to the ground. Sakura twirled through the air using her cheerleader skills, then landed on the ground a few feet away. As she rose from her landing, she was tackled down by the girl. She pinned her to the ground, then slammed a magic arrow against her to freeze it against the ground. She then climbed up, leaving Sakura trapped on.
“She can use magic!? That’s it! I have to help her before the girl uses more of her magic!” Li was becoming furious and tried to free himself from Yue’s grasp, but he held on tight. “Don’t be crazy Li! She has to do this own her own! It’s not time for us to intervene yet!” “But Sakura’s in trouble!” “Trust her to handle it! Don’t forget, this is like a test, to see if she is still capable of fighting and using her magic.” “And if she can’t?” “Then she’s in serious trouble. But for now, leave her be.” “Fine . . .” Li then crossed his arms in front of him, then glared over at the girl, who was taking a few steps away.
Sakura was trying to lift up her arm, which had been frozen from the girl’s magic. No matter how hard she tried, she could not break the ice which trapped her to the ground. The girl watched and then clenched her teeth together. “So, are you going to drop the barrier? Or am I going to have to demonstrate more of my magical arrow's abilities?” Sakura frowned, knowing she had no choice. Suddenly, a thought came into her head as she remembered back to when they first captured the Freeze Card. She remembered seeing Li trying to break the ice using his ice skates. She then returned to the present situation, then looked down at her Sealing Wand. She then looked back up at the girl and smiled. “I think not!” Sakura then threw out a card onto the ground, then slammed it with her wand. “Sword Card! Release and dispel!” A dark blue energy appeared and engulfed her wand, transforming it into a sharp sword. She then swung it down, ramming it against the ice. It cracked, then shattered allowing her arm to be free, and as well allowing her to climb to her feet. She then leaned back and went into a ready position, and the girl gripped her crossbow, doing the same. “You’re powers are strong, too bad you’re not yet ready to take on the force I am destined to fight.” “You wanna bet!?” “You’re not ready! Trust me! How can you be when the Storm Gem had you on the run!?” The girl then quickly brought down her crossbow and fired an arrow of blue light. Sakura jumped up into the air and brought down her sword, but the girl blocked easily by bringing up her crossbow to take the blow. The two weapons locked, causing a test of strength to begin. The girl smiled as she tried to overpower her. “You’re pretty strong, I might have been wrong.” “You’re not too bad either.” “Too bad you don’t react quick enough!” The girl suddenly then broke the lock, allowing her to gain the upper hand. She lifted her leg and kicked Sakura, causing her to stumble backwards. She then tossed out a gem and shot it, causing the vines to appear again and ensnare Sakura. Quick to react, Sakura brought up the sword and slashed through the vines, causing them to disappear. As she did so, the girl leaped up into the air and attempted to bring down her crossbow at her.
“That’s it. I can’t stand by any longer!” Li suddenly broke free of Yue’s grasp and ran out toward Sakura. Yue gasped, but chuckled to himself, knowing what was driving Li to be so concerned. Li leaped forward and pushed Sakura out of the way, allowing both of them to dodge the girl’s attack. She reacted quickly, then turned to land on her feet. She then quickly turned and fired a blue arrow at the two, but Li jumped up quickly and took the hit. The arrow bursted into water, knocking him back down. “Li!” Sakura quickly helped him up, putting his arm on her shoulder to keep him from falling. “Are you okay?”
The girl gasped, not knowing why she fired. She then used a spell to make the crossbow to glow, which then caused it to transform into a small pendant shaped like a blue arrow. She then placed it around her neck and frowned. “I’m sorry for that . . .I didn’t mean to fire an arrow like that . . .” Sakura looked up and frowned. “It’s all right, but why won’t you tell us who you are, and why can’t we help?” “I’m sorry, but this is dangerous . . .I don’t want innocent people getting hurt, which is why I ask you not to help me. I am as well telling the truth when I say I cannot reveal myself at the current time.” “You know we’re going to help you, no matter what you say. People are always in danger from these creatures, and since we’re CardCaptors, we feel we should protect them.” “Sakura’s right . . .” Sakura looked down and smiled as Li began to awaken. He got to his own feet, and she released him. The girl smiled then turned away. “Do what you want, but remember, I tried to warn you . . .” The girl then lowered her head to the ground for a moment, then raised it as she leaped up into the air. She landed in a tree, then leapt again to disappear into the trees. Yue walked over to Sakura and Li as he watched her leave. “Are you two all right?” “We’ll be fine.” “Yeah . . .been hit by worse . . .” “Something tells me you two have met that girl before . . .” “Yeah, only she didn’t act that way last time . . .” “When did you last see her?” “Last night, that gem she used on me was what she captured last night.” “Captured? Hmm . . .” “Hey guys!”
Suddenly, from out of the bushes, Madison ran out still holding her video camera. She smiled then looked to Sakura. “That was the best thing I’ve ever captured on tape! You rock!” “Thanks Madison.” “Now then, before I run out of battery power . . .” She smiled and lifted the camera back up to her eye, then turned to film Yue. “I need to get a good shot of Yue before he disappears again. Don’t pose though, okay?” Yue frowned, then crossed his arms as he watched the camera. “Whatever . . .don’t you have a talent show soon?” “Oh yeah!” She turned off the camera, then smiled and ran off. Li and Sakura laughed, then Yue closed his eyes and smiled. “I should transform back before anyone misses Julian. Until next time.” “Thanks again for the help Yue.” “No problem. I am a guardian after all.” He nodded then leaped up into the air to fly off into a part of the forest where no one would see him transform. Li and Sakura smiled, then walked off to go back to the festival.
Later on, far away atop a building in the city, the girl watched the sun set in the west, then looked down at the gem with the image of the griffin. “I didn’t help at all in showing they could trust me . . .” “You did what you had to do.” “But, why did it have to be that? I’m not in this to make enemies . . .” “Sometimes it can’t be avoided. All that matters is to do as much as you can to prove you want to be their allies.” “I know . . .I’ll just have to be more . . .” “Considerate of their abilities to fight?” “Yeah . . .when can I reveal myself?” “Very soon. Maybe after the next capture. I’ll come along, to tell you if it’s the right time or not.” “Thank you. Well, I should get home before my father misses me.” The girl then stood up, and looked toward the city as her long hair blew in the breeze. She then leapt off of the building and onto the next, repeating the feat as she made her way toward the edge of the city.
      “Flowers bloom . . .in the church . . .hiding an inner strength . . .”
Madison held the microphone as she sang the beautiful song atop the stage near the shrine. The audience found themselves either listening carefully, daydreaming, or dancing with a friend or loved one. Sakura and Li listened and smiled. “That is the best song she’s ever written. Everyone loves it!” “Defiantly. Say Sakura, thanks for saving me from the Storm Gem. I really appreciated it.” “No problem. You saved me from that girl, so we’ll call it even?” “Sure.”
Suddenly, Sakura felt a tap on her shoulder. She spun around and smiled to see Julian standing there, smiling like he always did. “How’s it going you two?” “Pretty good. How was your trip?” “A total blast. You have no idea what kinds of stuff I got to see while in London.” “That’s so cool.” Sakura then turned to the stage as Madison continued to sing her song. “Gather round . . .this holy ground . . .listen close . . .to the tale!” Sakura smiled as she listened. “Isn’t Madison great? She’s the best singer anyone’s ever heard.” “I know. No one could beat her. You think she’ll take it up when she’s older?” “That, or a fashion designer!” The three laughed as Li added his comment, then calmed down to listen more. “She could go into either.”
Sakura nodded, then frowned as she began thinking about what happened that day. “That girl didn’t want to hurt me . . .so why did she? What are those gems . . .and who is the Guardian Beast of the Stars? Friend or foe? Advantage or threat? Guess we’ll have to wait and see . . .hopefully the answer will be good for us . . .”
     “So it is said . . .by the local . . .flower merchant . . .”
Madison bowed as she completed, causing a loud uproar to rise and echo throughout the grounds. She smiled then walked off of the stage, knowing she did well because of the applause. Sakura ran over and hugged her friend, as did Li. “You were totally awesome up there Madison!” “Thanks Sakura!” “I think so too.” “Well if Li Showron likes my song, then it’s gotta be good!” The three laughed as she said that, feeling great that they got through another day with out injury, but disappointed that they still were not able to find out the identity or motives of the strange girl.

The Kayo Gems

“Each gem that is captured has a mystical seal . . .a new mystifying gem today we shall reveal . . .”
The Kayo box is dark blue with the image of a golden eagle on the lid. It suddenly flipped opened and tipped over, causing all the gems inside to spill out onto the ground. They all bounced around, but one landed and spun around on one side. It then fell over into it’s flat side to reveal the image to be a rabbit surrounded by a strange fog.
      “Mist Gem!”
Sakura was wandering through the forest, carrying a crossbow for some reason. There was a strange mist which engulfed the area. Sakura was suddenly attacked from behind by a large rabbit. She used the crossbow to fire arrows at it, which caused the rabbit to fall on it’s back. Sakura then fired an arrow and it sealed into a gem. The Mist Gem appears again before bursting into a whitish grey light.

Kero's Corner

“Hey there Card fans! It’s once again time for Kero’s Corner, where I bring to you the behind-the-scene, inside-track, just-between-you-and-me, lowdown scoop on Yue!”
He turns around to face the TV. Holding a remote in his hand, Kero turns on the TV to Yue appearing from the forest in a calm fashion.
“I’m the Guardian Beast of the Sun, everyone knows that. Yue on the other hand, is the Guardian of the moon, and the one who passed judgment on Sakura a long time ago.”
He then changes the channel to show a still image of Yue standing casually, with his arms crossed.
“Like Li’s costume, the colours, design, everything about Yue’s appearance is very important, especially since Clow Reed appointed him Guardian of the Moon.”
Kero smiled then flies closer until his face is almost right up again the camera lens.
      “And now, check out this!”
He then changed the channel again to show a picture of Yue, Sakura, and Julian.
“When Yue isn’t around, he assumes the form of Julian. Now Julian has no clue about this, but Yue knows everything which happens. However, being Guardian of the Moon, he can’t create his own energy, so he must get it from Sakura.”
Kero then flies over and sits down in a recliner. He picks up a string and starts Cat’s Cradle, and then looks back toward the camera.
“In a way, it explains why Julian eats so much. Man, you can put anything in front of him and he’ll eat it in one breath practically. Whether Julian will find about Yue or not is unknown, but remember, expect the unexpected. See ya!”
He waves continues playing Cat’s Cradle as the scene fades out.
