CardCaptors
The GemCaptors Chronicles

Last time on CardCaptors . . .

“I have to pass this test or I’m in trouble . . .”
A major test in English Class forces Ceaira to lose sleep for the next two days from studying. After she writes it, she finally decides the sleep she lost by going to bed early and sleeping in late for the weekend. However . .
“What is going on around here!?”
After arriving home from school, she goes to sleep, only to wake up in a strange world. Nothing is what it seems to be, and she finds herself alone, with only her battle costume and her pendant to protect herself. She encountered a vision from her past, and a false premonition before finding herself inside a mysterious forested temple, where a mysterious being sits by the river.
      “Who is that?”
Aquilia is at loss in trying to wake her up, but when the others come over to try and figure out the mystery, they come to the conclusion that another one of the Kayo Gems is at work.
“The Nightmare Gem has her trapped inside hiss world of nightmares. Only Ceaira can get herself out.”
After becoming trapped by the Nightmare Gem, copying the form of Hannya Syona, Ceaira is told by her deceased sister’s spirit, to use her magic through the armlets she wears. Breaking the staff, she frees herself, then seals the gem, which allows the real spirit of Hannya to appear.
      “I’ll never forget you Hannya.”
The two say goodbye, and Ceaira wakes up to be greeted by her friends. After talking about her sister, she goes to sleep to recover the energy she lost during the past two days.

Episode Six

Laws of Gravity

Saturday was very quiet. Sakura and Li were glad that Ceaira was able to escape the Nightmare Gem's very mysterious and horrific world, especially considering what she went up against before sealing the creature back into the form of a gem. They, plus Madison, Kero, and Aquilia, decided to spend that weekend just having fun and getting to know one another. After careful discussion, they all decided to go down to the field and play a game of two-on-two soccer. When they arrived, Li started juggling the ball as he began explaining the rules.
"Okay, two-on-two soccer works like this, you have two players and no goalie. You're only allowed to touch the ball with your hands if you're past the line to your goal. The first two to score three goals is the winner. "So who's with who?" "I'll play with Madison and Aquilia." "Okay Ceaira. So Sakura and Kero are on my team then." "That's right. And we're going to beat you both!" "Yeah right Sakura! In your dreams maybe!" "We'll see about that Ceaira." They all laughed then went into their positions. Li and Ceaira stepped up to the centre while Kero held the soccer ball. "Is everyone ready?" They all nodded then Kero tossed up the soccer ball. "Here we go!" Ceaira easily bumps it with her head and it goes to Madison. She runs toward the net with the ball, but then suddenly Sakura slides in and kicks the ball away. Li intercepts it and heads for the other goal. Ceaira tries to kick it away but Li takes the shot and scores. Sakura cheers and Madison congratulates them. Ceaira smiles them points to Li. "You're going down little man!" "Ha! Wanna bet Ceaira?" Li then picked up the soccer ball, and used a head butt to pass it back to Kero. He caught it, and then smiled, as he was ready to start another round. Sakura and Madison stepped up and prepared to face off. "You're going down Sakura. "We'll see about that Madison." Kero then tossed up the ball and it bounced once on the ground before Sakura kicked it back to Li. He raced off with it, but when he took the shot, Ceaira leaped in front of the net and kicked it away. Madison intercepted it and headed for their goal. Sakura tried to slide in, but missed as Madison took a shot and scored a goal. Ceaira cheered, while Sakura high-fived Madison. "Great shot! You got past me that time!" "I know, only because I've seen you do that move a lot." "Well, it's time for the next round." "Right!"
Later, after Sakura, Kero and Li won the game, everyone went to the park after buying snow cones. They sat in the shade, and then began talking. "So Ceaira, what's Egypt like?" "It's hot, dry, and packed. I lived in Cairo for the past 12 years." "Really? Where did you used to live before that?" "I was born in Hong Kong, like my ancestor. We then moved to Winnipeg when I was three, then to Cairo when I was five." "Winnipeg is in Canada right?" "Yeah. It gets pretty cold there in the winter, but their summers are pretty cool compared to Cairo." "So you found the Kayo Chest in Cairo?" "Yeah. Two months ago my dad discovered the tomb of Clow Kayo. He had to leave, but being curious, I checked the place out. In one of the chambers, I found this small pedestal with the box on it. I opened it up to see all of these beautiful gems. Suddenly, after I removed Firey, Love, and Friendship, they all began to glow. I backed away, but at the same time I bumped the pedestal. The box fell over and all the gems went flying in small balls of light. Aquilia then appeared and asked where they all were, so I showed her the three that were left. She then made me a GemCaptor, and for the next three weeks, we tried to find out where they were." "How did you find out they were in Reidenton?" "We didn't. My dad told me we were moving again to here, because he was asked to teach at the university. When we arrived, Aquilia sensed the gems, and then I did too. After searching for a couple of weeks, we went out after sensing one. Then I saw you three trapped by the vines, and well . . .you know the rest." "Yeah. That's pretty cool." "So how did you three become involved with the Clow Cards?" "Well, I kind of did the same thing, only the Clow Book was in my basement. I only had the Windy Card afterwards, then that night I captured Fly, which began the adventure." "I found out the next day, then helped Sakura by giving her a battle costume. I've been helping her that way ever since." "I came before she captured Thunder. I doubted her abilities for a long time, and so did Meilin before she went home. However, the two of us accepted Sakura as the CardCaptor, so we helped her ever since." "You already know my involvement in all of this." "That sounds neat. By the way, who's Meilin?" "She's my friend from Hong Kong. She came when Sakura captured the Fight Card. She's a martial artist, and one of my best friends." "Very neat." "So have you made any other friends yet Ceaira?" Besides Tori?" "Oh yeah, I've got three friends who've been there for me since I started. They're Hope Anderson, Kara Yanagisawa, and Yuuki Robertson." "That's great. It's good to have lots of friends." "Yeah." Ceaira smiled then lied down on the ground and stared through the leaves at the sky. "This place has been pretty awesome since I moved here." "Well, at least it's not boring for us right?" "Really though. The Kayo Gems sure keep us on our toes eh?" Everyone then laughed, then Sakura smiled as she ate some of her snow cone. "I'm glad the hatred in the Reed and Kayo bloodlines doesn't cause us to become rivals. That would be awful." "Yeah. We got enough to worry about with the Kayo Gems, without having to add in the family feud." "I hate fighting anyway . . ." "Is that why you refused at first to battle the Fight Card two years ago?" "Well, that and it challenged Meilin." "Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that." "Oh well." "I wonder what gem will appear next . . ." "We couldn't help you. The order that these gems are appearing isn't the same as the order of the cards, especially for the Nightmare and Amazon Gem." "Well, I suppose we should head back home or something." "Why?" "Umm, no reason . . ." Sakura and Madison then giggled to themselves, and Ceaira looked over at them suspiciously. "What's so funny?" "You just want to see Tori." "If it was your choice, you would probably give up being a GemCaptor, and then spend all your free time with my brother!" "That's not true! I like being a GemCaptor. It separates me from normal people, and for that I feel special. That, and it's neat to be able to use magic." "We haven't seen you use your magic yet, have we?" "Well, my magic I can either use like wizard of long ago, but you've mainly seen it in my arrows. When I attack the Gems, that's magic." "Really?" "Yeah. I've trained myself to use some magic ever since I accidentally melted my father's watch with fire magic . . .that was about 11 years ago." "Wow." "Well, I've got some homework to get done before tomorrow." "And I should get some more sleep. I'm never going to do what I did before that English Test ever again." "That's great!" "That and I hope never to encounter the Nightmare Gem like that ever again!" "Yeah!" Well, I'll see all of you tomorrow at school." "Bye!" Everyone then waved to each other and left. Kero went into Sakura's backpack, while Aquilia went into Ceaira's. They all then parted ways and headed back to their homes.       That night, Sakura was getting a glass of water and taking it up to her room. When she walked in, Kero was sitting on a pillow playing his video game again. She sighed to herself then looked back to him. "It's time for bed. Game off." "Can I please finish this one level?" "No, I'll get in trouble if you don't turn off the game!" "Fine, just give me a minute to save." He did just that, then turned off the game and the TV. He frowned as he flew over to the desk, where he sat and crossed his arms. "You sure know how to ruin a good game." "You can play it all day tomorrow remember? Monday means school for me?" "Oh yeah, you're right." He smiled then looked outside. "This past week has been pretty interesting eh?" "You're right. I'm just glad something exciting has started again. It was getting boring, not doing anything for two years." "You mean you actually missed that?" "Well yeah, seeing as I got used to it. But now with the appearance of the Kayo Gems, it means new creatures and powers to fight against." "So Ceaira said there's at least 60 gems?" "That's right Kero." "Well then, we will have our hands full eh?" "Really though. Well, good night Kero." "Good night Sakura." She smiled, and then reached over to the lamp on the night stand. She turned it off, and then pulled up the covers to keep herself warm. As she dozed off, Kero curled up on her pillow, and then went to sleep as well.
The bells echoed throughout the night as the clock tower stuck the hour or midnight. Everything was quiet, and there was not a soul awake. Suddenly, a sparkling, blue-ish green light, and a pale yellow light, appeared above the clock tower, which seemed to hover for a few moments. It then floated down toward the ground, but then took off down the street until it reached the high school. Looking around for a moment, it then sped into a small crack on the wall, and then went flying down the hallways. The walls suddenly began to glow, but then the light faded just as quickly as it had appeared.
The next day, Sakura, Li, and Madison were walking to school, not wanting to roller blade because of the rain that was pouring down. Li carried the umbrella, which kept the three dry. "I'm glad it wasn't raining yesterday." "Our day would have been ruined." "It's a good thing we'll be inside the school. That way we'll be dry." "That's right." The three nodded, then turned the corner as they walked into the schoolyard. Everyone was running toward the school doors as fast as they could to get out of the rain, which was still pouring down quite a bit. When the three ran inside, Li closed his umbrella, and then headed over to his locker. After opening it up, he placed it inside along with his jacket. "That was too much rain out there." "Really though. Let's just hope it lets up by this afternoon." "Yeah. I don't want to have to walk home in it!" "Same here!"
They all turned around to see Ceaira placing her jacket into her locker. Unfortunately, she looked like the rain had hit her much worse than the others. Her hair was totally soaked, as were her shoes. She shook her foot to let out a great deal of water onto the ground. "Does it always rain this much in Reidenton?" "Sometimes." "Will it rain a long time?" "Sometimes." "Can you say other words?" "Sometimes." "You three are strange." That caused all four to laugh, knowing that it was not a bad start to the gloomy day. Ceaira then gathered all of her hair into a bunch, and then squeezed all the water out, which dripped to the floor. The three couldn't help but laugh at her, which made her look up and frown. "What did I do to deserve this . . ."
The day went by very slowly for all four of them. Ceaira nearly fell asleep in Gym Class, causing her to get hit in the stomach by a basketball. Sakura had a free class, so she wandered over to the store to buy chocolate bars for everyone. At lunch, everyone stayed inside the cafeteria because it was still raining. Sakura handed out the chocolate bars to everyone, which everyone was grateful for. “Thanks Sakura.” “I needed a sugar boost.” “Same here.” “So how are you handling today Ceaira?” “Still a little tired, but I’m getting through it. I got my English Test back.” “Really? How did you do?” “Hang on a second.” Ceaira leaned over toward the floor. where her case was resting against her chair. She lifted it up, and opened it. Pulling out a piece of paper, she handed it to Sakura, who looked at it with Li and Madison. “91% That’s awesome!” “I know, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to do what I did to prepare for it. I should have listened to Aquilia.” “Look at it this way, she said the gem took advantage of your fatigue. If you decided not to do that, then you wouldn’t have captured Nightmare.” “You got a point Sakura. Guess it did help a little, but I still won’t do it again.” “That’s good.” Ceaira then lifted her chocolate bar to her face and bit into it, chewing on a fair sized piece. As she ate it, it began to storm a little outside. Everyone watched as the lightning flashed, then they turned back to their lunches as Ceaira placed her chocolate back on the table and smiled, resting her chin on her hands. “It’s a good thing we’ve already captured the Storm Gem, otherwise we would have to race out there in the rain and lightning, and get soaked while searching for that annoying griffin!” “Tell me about it.” They all suddenly started laughing, then went back to eating.
Far away in the auditorium, the pale yellow and blueish green lights floated near the ceiling. They remained there for a few minutes, until the yellow light dove down toward the floor. It merged with the carpets, causing them to flash in the same colour as the original light. The other light circled around the room near the ceiling until it seeped into the walls. They as well flashed with a blueish green light, which caused all action to stop.       Ceaira suddenly dropped her chocolate bar to the ground, as her eyes widened. She seemed to freeze in place as she breathed heavily. Sakura became concerned, so she waved a hand in front of Ceaira’s face. “Hello? Ceaira? Do you sense something?” Ceaira suddenly blinked and quickly placed her left hand to her face as she looked down at the ground. “I sense Kayo Gems . . .” “Really?” “Can you tell which ones?” “Not yet . . .they must be gems which may not use too much energy. I can only identify a gem if it uses a lot of power, like the Snow Gem a while ago.” “What should we do?”
Just as Madison finished her question, the bell on the wall ran aloud, signalling the end of the lunch hour. The four became upset at that, for it meant they had to go back to class, and as well it meant they could not go and search for the gems. Ceaira frowned as she rose from her chair. She picked up her case then looked toward the door. “We’ll search for them after supper tonight. That will give us time to get our battle costumes, as well as Kero and Aquilia.” “Good idea. Let’s just hope the gems don’t decide to go anywhere.” “Right. We’ll meet at the north entrance as soon as possible after the final class.” “Got it.” “See everyone later.” They all nodded, then gathered up their belongings and headed toward different doors. As Ceaira walked, she suddenly leaned toward the side and stumbled toward the side. She rested her back against the wall and then looked down the hallway, wiping a small amount of sweat away from her forehead. “They’re strong . . .but I can’t tell which ones. I seriously hope I can make it through my classes this afternoon.”
In Art Class, everyone had to paint an object or person which has very special meaning to themselves. Sakura painted a number of things in hers, which included Kero, her Star Key, a Sakura Card, Madison and Li. Madison of course, painted music notes, a piano, clothes, and her camcorder. Li was standing there for a few minutes, still holding the painting pallet and the brush, staring at the blank canvas. Sakura looked over to see what he did, then giggled when she saw nothing there. “Having trouble Li?” He suddenly looked over in surprise, then turned away quickly when he felt himself starting to blush. “Of course not! I’m just taking the time to visualize my painting.” “I see. Quick question Li. Which Kayo Gems do you think they might be?” “It’s hard to tell, especially if Ceaira wasn’t able to identify them. Of course, she’s new at this so she has to give her powers time to increase.” “Oh.” “Well, back to visualizing.” “Right. I should finish mine too.” Sakura smiled as she turned back to her canvas and blushed lightly.
Madison watched the two and giggled to herself as she finished painting the camcorder. She then turned to Nikki, who was painting a knight fighting a dragon. “That’s really cool Nikki.” “Thanks Madison.” “You know what? Sakura and Li are so clueless.” “Tell me about it.” “They have no clue that everyone has figured out they both like each other.” “Yeah. Oh well, someday they’ll figure it out. Some people even placed bets for who will tell the other first. The majority is voting for Li.” “I think he will, Sakura’s not the type to do that anyway.” “You’re right Madison. After all, you are her best friend.” “Of course!” She and Nikki nodded, then went back to their canvas’ to finish painting. Meanwhile, Li was finally painting his, and on the canvas was a picture of his sword, a Clow Card, and a cherry blossom tree.
Later, the final bell rang and everyone rushed like crazy to get out of school. Time passed however, and Sakura, Madison, and Li found themselves waiting at the north entrance for Ceaira. Li checked his watch then looked toward the two. “It’s 3:35.” “Where is she?” “Think she’s okay? I mean, remember how she looked at lunch when she sensed the gems?” “Maybe she had a free class, so maybe she went home early to get her battle costume and Aquilia.” “I hope you’re right.” “What should we do in the meantime?” “Wait here, but if she doesn’t come by 4, then we’ll head home and get our costumes.” “I’ve got a new costume you’ve just got to try Sakura. It’s in this awesome colour called Electric Violet.” “Sure thing Madison.” “Say Madison . . .” “Yeah Li?” “I have a favour to ask. When we get older and I’m not able to wear my robes anymore, think you can make a battle costume for me?” “Sure thing Li.” “Thanks.” Sakura smiled at the two then looked down the hallway. She frowned then turned to the others. “She should be here by now . . .” “I know . . .” “Maybe we should just get out stuff, but we’ll maybe leave a note on her locker.” “Good idea.” Madison removed a piece of paper from her case, as well as a pen, then began writing the message. She then got a piece of tape and then posted the note on the locker. The three then headed for the door, but as they pulled on the handle, they found that the door wouldn’t open. Sakura and Li both grabbed the handle, and pulled at once, but to their disappointment, the doors still wouldn’t open. “What’s going on? Why won’t the doors open?” “Hey everyone!”
The three suddenly turned around to see Ceaira running toward them, gripping her pendant in her right hand. She stopped as soon as she reached them, then wiped her forehead of any sweat. “We’re locked in!” “Oh no!” “The gems must not want me to leave . . .Nightmare must have been right when he said they all want me dead. They must have not figured you three would be here.” “Maybe they don’t know about us yet.” “Maybe. But since we’re trapped in here, we might as well look around and track down those gems.” “Should we summon our weapons first?” “Good idea.” Everyone nodded, and Madison took a step back so she wouldn’t get hit by any magic. She then frowned and crossed her arms as she leaned against the lockers. “I can’t believe I don’t have a camcorder to record the capture when it happens . . .”
Ceaira grabbed her pendant and held it in front of her. She then placed her hands together to conceal the pendant from view. She then closed her eyes and began her incantation. “Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!” A blue light appeared, causing her to open her eyes. she pulled her hands apart and the blue arrow rose upward. It then became engulfed in a sphere of light blue energy. Streams of the same energy appeared then flowed into the pendant, which then began to morph. Ceaira then leaped up and stopped in front of the finished product of the metamorphosis; her crossbow. She grabbed it then fell back toward the ground. As she landed on the ground, Sakura was beginning her incantation.
“Key of Star . . .Power of Magic . . .Power of Light . . .surrender the wand . . .the force ignite . . .Release!” Streams of energy appeared and swirled around her. At the same time other streams were flowing into the key as it spun around in mid air. It then began to extend. Sakura grabbed the mid-section then twirled it around until it was at full size. Li had just removed a round pendant and was now doing an incantation.
“Source of light with ancient spin, send forth the magical power within . . .” He then threw the pendant up to the sky and it began transforming as well. “Force know my plight, release the light!” As it fell, it began to take on the form of his sword. Before it hit the ground, he grabbed the handle, and the light shattered to reveal the sword’s form.
As their weapons stopped glowing, they looked around the halls outside. “At least we won’t get rained on for a while.” “I guess you’re right Madison.” “So how should we do this?” “We’ll split up and check out the four sections of the school. After half an hour, we’ll meet in the auditorium. Sound all right?” “Yeah, but wait a minute. I have an idea.” She took out and held a card in front of her with her eyes closed, and turned the image outward to face away from her to reveal it to be a woman holding a fan in front of her face. She then tossed it forward and then began twirling the wand. “Silent Card . . .give us your powers so the Kayo Gems cannot hear us.” She finished twirling as the card stopped in front of her. She raised the wand above her head, then brought it down, causing the point to slam against the card’s image. “Silent Card! Release and dispel!” Waves of energy and light appeared and travelled outward as she held the position. A grey light suddenly emerged from the card, swirling all around her. The four then began walking down the halls, but unlike before, the sounds of their footsteps were now cloaked by the Silent Card’s powers.
Half an hour passed, and everyone met at the auditorium like they agreed on. Ceaira leaned against the wall, looking frustrated. “I wasn’t able to sense the gems while I searched.” “We couldn’t either.” “I didn’t see anything at all.” “Did anyone check inside the auditorium yet?” “No, I figured to maybe wait until you three arrived.” “Shall we go look now?” “Yeah. They should be in there, it’s the only place we haven’t looked yet.” “You’re right.” Ceaira walked over and grabbed the handles of the doors, then pulled them open. The four took deep breaths, then Sakura, Li, and Ceaira headed in. Just as they stepped onto the carpet, they started to rise into the air. They floated higher until they were a few feet off the ground. Suddenly, the doors slammed shut, and the two energies appeared from the walls and floor. The pale yellow energy morphed to become a cobra, with scales of a dark shade of tan. The other energy became an elf like being with dark green skin, blue hair, and blood red eyes. It wore a black tank top, torn blue jeans, and it wore a blueish green pendant which seemed to glow. As Ceaira floated there, she raised her crossbow to fire at the two, but the arrows changed direction to fly and hit the floor, right before colliding with the elf or snake. The elf smiled, and waved his hand around the pendant which shot an energy at Ceaira, colliding with her and slamming her against the wall. “Ceaira!” “Don’t worry about me! I can break free from this!” She clenched her teeth and crossbow as the beam of energy, which seemed invisible, continued to pin her against the wall. The beam could only be seem through the rippling effect it caused when looked through. Sakura turned to the two being and glared at them, gripping her Star Wand. The cobra smiled, then shot a pale yellow beam at the floor. The carpet’s morphed, and the entire floor of the auditorium because a large pit of quicksand. The three gasped, then Sakura turned to Ceaira. “Don’t worry, we’ll save you!” “Listen Sakura! You have to try a projectile card! The gravity is being effected by one of those two beings, so you won’t be able to make a fast enough attack with any other card or weapon!” “Okay!” Sakura thought for a minute, then gasped as she got another idea. She pulled out a card and showed it to Li, who studied it carefully. “The Shot Card! That should do the trick!” “I can combine it with the Dash Card to launch a faster attack.” “It’s worth a try. Do it Sakura!” “Right!”
She held the two cards in front of her with her eyes closed, and turned the images outward to face away from her. She then tossed them forward and then began twirling the wand as they circled around her. “Shot . . .Dash . . .” She finished twirling as the card stopped in front of her. She raised the wand above her head, then brought it down, causing the point to slam against both card’s images. “Release and dispel!” Waves of energy and light appeared and travelled outward as she held the position. Clear light suddenly emerged from the card, causing white and yellow energy to swirl all around her. The form of Shot appeared, followed by Dash’s energy which merged with it’s partner. It then powered up a lightning bolt and fired it at the elf, but the cobra reacted quickly and shot a beam of pale yellow energy. The two collided and a burst of sand appeared after impact. Ceaira gasped then quickly then managed to concentrate a burst of energy from her crossbow, which allowed the beam to break. She floated down then over toward her comrades and looked toward the two opponents. “The cobra is the Sand Gem! That explains the quicksand!” “Are you sure? The Sand Card wasn’t able to make quicksand!” “The Sand Gem is more powerful than the card, like all the gems are. I still can’t figure out which gem that elf is though . . .” The elf suddenly grabbed the pendant in his right hand, which caused a burst of energy to hit Li. He fell toward the ground and landed in the quicksand, causing him to be pulled under ever so slowly. Sakura cried out and floated down toward Li to try and pull him out. Ceaira just floated there and panicked within her mind from the situation. “Oh no! What can we do if the gravity won’t let us attack the elf or cobra? Wait a second . . .that pendant . . .” Ceaira suddenly thought back to the night when she released the gems from the Kayo Chest, recalling she saw one of them bearing the image of an elf boy wearing the same pendant. She suddenly gasped as she returned to reality, realizing what they were up against. “The Gravity Gem! Of course!”
She gripped her crossbow, but then looked down at the ground, where Sakura was still trying to pull Li out of the quicksand. She panicked, then looked back up at the elf and cobra. “This is just great . . .I can’t seal Gravity or else we’ll all fall into the quicksand. But . . .I can’t seem to get one of my arrows to hit the Sand Gem . . .wait a minute. What if I shot at a different angle? That’s it!” She smiled and raised her crossbow, aiming for a window on the side wall. She then looked to the cobra and smiled as she knew what to do. “Sand Gem! Return to your power confined!” She pulled the trigger to fire the arrow of white light, which soared toward the window. It suddenly changed direction and flew toward the cobra. The elf disappeared, leaving the cobra alone to turn into a ball of energy just as the arrow bursted into energy itself. The two merged, forming the Sand Gem when the two energy disappeared. It floated over and Ceaira floated over to it, grabbing it with her left to study it’s image. On the gem was a brown background with the yellow cobra with it’s tongue sticking out as if it was hissing. The frame of the picture was two columns of sand. She smiled, then placed it in her pocket and looked down at the ground.
Ceaira and Sakura was shocked to see Li trapped in the floor after everything returned to normal, so Ceaira turned to the elf who was laughing at his misfortune. Ceaira became angry, but then gasped as she remembered something. She thought back to history class, when she was showing everyone her armlets of her battle costume. “These are the armlets of my family. My ancestor created them when magic still existed. Someone who can use magic can channel the power through the gold designs to use through the hands. They’re very powerful.” She then returned to reality and pulled her backpack off her back, then pulled out the armlets and slid them on her arms. She felt the power within them, then powered up her magic. “Ancient powers heed my cry, allow the force to fly! Ice!”
The gold designs on the armlets began to glow in a crystal blue colour. As she clenched her fists, the energy seemed to electrify as it engulfed her lower arm. The elf became nervous, so he gripped his pendant, then fired a blast of invisible magic at Ceaira. She lifted her arms over her head as the electric effect increased. She then shouted out as if she was a karate student ready to strike, then threw her arms down in front of her pointing toward the elf, and she fired a blast of energy which assumed the form of hundreds of ice shards. The two energies collided, causing a flash of light to emit and engulf the room. It then became a test of strength between Ceaira and the Gravity Gem’s form.
Back on the floor, Sakura and Li were still trying to think of a way to free Li from the floor. He became angry, so he slammed his sword against the floorboards. He then dropped it and sighed in a frustrated manner. “How the heck and I supposed to get out of this?” “If only we could remove the floorboards . . .that would free you.” “Remove the boards . . .” Li placed a hand to his face and his elbow on the floor as he began thinking carefully. Sakura began thinking too, then suddenly they both gasped and looked at each other at the same time, then they suddenly spoke aloud the same sentence. “The Erase Card! Of course!” She took out and held a card in front of her with her eyes closed, and turned the image outward to face away from her, to reveal the image of a woman holding a white cloth beside her. She then tossed it forward and then began twirling the wand. “Erase Card . . .remove the floorboard to free Li!” She finished twirling as the card stopped in front of her. She raised the wand above her head, then brought it down, causing the point to slam against the card’s image. “Erase Card! Release and dispel!” Waves of energy and light appeared and travelled outward as she held the position. Whitish-blue light suddenly emerged from the card, swirling all around her. The cloth suddenly appeared, then the floorboard disappeared. Li smiled then began floating up from the ground until he was beside Sakura. He smiled then gave her thumbs up. “Thanks Sakura.” “No problem Li.”
Higher off the ground, Ceaira and the elf were still caught in the power struggle. She concentrated harder, but no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to break the beams. The elf suddenly smiled and placed his other hand into the beam, which causing it to gain more space. It began edging toward her, which made her panic. She then released her fists so her hands were wide open, then she yelled out her battle cry much faster than before. “Ancient powers heed my cry! Allow the force to fly! Ice!” A suddenly burst of energy shot out from her hands and flew through the ice shards to collide with the beam of energy. Ceaira’s blast suddenly overpowered the elf’s magic, and hers went flying toward it. The elf had no time to react, causing the ice shards to hit him upon impact. He was then knocked out by a chunk of ice, causing him to fall and hit the ground. Suddenly, the gravity returned to normal, causing Ceaira, Sakura and Li to fall to the ground. Li and Sakura landed on their feet, but Ceaira landed on her side, with the crossbow landing beside her. Sakura rushed over and began helping her up. “Are you okay Ceaira?” “I’ll be fine.” “You guys hurry! The gem is getting back up!”
Ceaira and Sakura quickly turned to where the elf had hit the floor, to see him stumbling around totally dazed. Ceaira quickly picked up her crossbow and tossed out a gem. It hit the floor and she quickly leaped into the air to fire an arrow at it. “Amazon Gem! Shatter and Dispel!” The arrow collided with the gem, causing it to shatter and form hundreds of vines. They ensnared the elf, who became totally immobile. Ceaira landed on the ground, then quickly raised and shot another arrow of white light at him. “Gravity Gem! Return to your power confined!” The arrow bursted into a white light, as did the elf. The vines retracted and reformed into the gem, which Ceaira caught after it bounced over. She placed it in her pocket just as the elf and white energy disappeared, to leave behind another gem. It bounced once off the ground, then over to Ceaira. She caught it then examined the image, which was the elf with his arms crossed just below the pendant. The background was completely black, and white designs like those on her armlet made up the frame of the image. Ceaira sighed, then collapsed to her knees and let out a deep breath of fatigue. Sakura and Li did the same, only Li fell over onto his back and sprawled his arms out to the sides. “That has got to be the toughest battle we’ve fought yet . . .” “Tell me about it . . .” “Don’t get comfortable . . .remember . . .there are more powerful and elusive gems out there.” “We know Ceaira . . .the cards were the same thing.” “Can I ask a question?” “What Li?” “Are we going to stay here all day or what?” “Nah. Let’s go home now.” “My dad’s making home-made pizza tonight. You all wanna come over? I’m sure Tori would love to have you over Ceaira.” “Well of course!”
Everyone then laughed aloud, causing Madison to come in giggling to herself with her arms behind her back. Sakura smiled then frowned when she saw her best friend. “Poor Madison. She never got to tape us in action . . .” “And you never wore one of her battle costumes.” “You’re right about the battle costumes. As for the video tape . . .” Madison smiled and pulled out her arm from behind her back to reveal her camcorder in both her hands. The gang gasped then laughed, causing Madison to laugh too. “It was in my case all along!” “Oh Madison!”
Everyone then laughed again and then got up from the floor. They went to their lockers to grab their coats, then they left the school and headed home. A full moon was hanging in the clear sky, surrounded by thousands of tiny stars. “Maybe when we get there, we’ll go to up Sakura’s room and watch the video tape on the TV.” “Sounds like a plan.” “Say Sakura, does your brother mind having me around?” “He still doesn’t like the fact you tried to . . .‘hassle’ me in the fourth grade. He still gets a little annoyed when we argue, but other than that he’s glad you don’t try to hurt me anymore.” “Okay.” “Does Kero act the same way?” “Not anymore. He’s accepted you as an ally now.” “That’s great.” “Yup!” Everyone smiled, then headed into Sakura’s house once they arrived. As the door shut, a black shadow streaked across the moonlight, then right after that, clouds formed and engulfed the moon, ridding the city of it’s light for a few moments before the clouds rolled by to reveal it again. The shadow suddenly streaked by once again before totally disappearing.

The Kayo Gems

"Each gem that is captured has a mystical seal . . .a new mystifying gem today we shall reveal . . ."
The Kayo box is dark blue with the image of a golden eagle on the lid. It suddenly flipped opened and tipped over, causing all the gems inside to spill out onto the ground. They all bounced around, but one landed and spun around on one side. It falls onto its flat side, revealing its image to be a large white bird with a long neck, within a frame of feathers.
      "Fly Gem!"
A large, dark coloured bird screeches, then is seen diving down at the gang. They all fall to the ground, and then the bird flew back up into the air and away from the school. Ceaira summons the Jump Gem and leaps up onto the school then onto the bird. Sakura then summons the Power Card and commands its powers go into the wand. She then throws the Sealing Wand to Ceaira, who uses it to hit the giant bird. It falls to the ground and Ceaira leaps off, then she shoots an arrow to seal the bird into a gem before it hits the ground. The Fly Gem is shown again before bursting into a whitish-gray light.

Kero’s Corner

"Hey there Card fans! It is once again time for Kero's Corner, where I give you the behind-the-scenes, inside scoop, just-between-you-and-me, lowdown info on Ceaira's magic!
He then turns to the TV, and with his remote control, he turns it on to the CardCaptors Gang, as Ceaira pulls our her armlets from out of her backpack.
"Like Li, Ceaira is able to use elemental magic, but she doesn't have those strange papers like he does. She uses the energy within her spirit to summon an elemental attack. Normally she concentrates it into an arrow form, but in today's episode she had to channel it through the arm guards she wears just above her wrist."
He then changes the channel to show a still image of her arm guards.
"The symbols on it are pretty, but the gold mixed with black, in her family, means a magic talisman. Her boots are the same, but that's so she can use the Jump abilities if Sakura casts them on her."
He then flies up and over until he's almost up against the camera lens.
      "And now, check out this!"
He then changed the channel to show another clip of them fighting Gravity, only she is now using her ice magic.
"She can hold a magic spell for a while as you saw today. She has taught herself to be able to weird any element or power she needs. Fire, Water, Earth, Moon, almost anything you can imagine."
He then flies over to sit in a recliner. He then pulls off a book from a nearby bookshelf and opens it up.
"Unfortunately for us, magic is something you pretty much have to be born with, then to use it you have to spend years of training and practising. Oh well, guess if we all had it then it wouldn't be special. Well, until next time. See ya!"
He then looks down at the book and starts reading it as the scene fades out.
