Royal Dancer by Idocus

“Dancer” is a registered NA/WPN Dutch Warmblood by Idocus out of the Jockey Club registered and Belgium Warmblood approved Thoroughbred mare, Pour Le Sport. For a more extensive pedigree, go to the Del Mar Pedigree database link on our "Contact Info" page.

Bred for temperament, conformation, athleticism, and trainability, this promising young bay stallion is a modern type sporthorse (more leg, higher set neck, more refined). Born May, 1998, and currently 17.2hh.

His sire, Idocus , an Approved NA/WPN and KWPN stallion, is a grandson of Voltaire. He was the champion in 1993 at the 100 Day Stallion Performance Test, with a total of 131.12; 9’s temperament, gaits, trainability, jumping, 10 capacity to work. In 1994, Idocus achieved the highest score in North America ever, a 99AA, when presented at his keuring for “Approval” status as a NA/WPN stallion. Idocus is winning/placing at International level Grand Prix dressage. In March, 2003, at the CDI in s'Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, Idocus won the World cup Qualifier Grand Prix with a score of 70.00%. More recently, the pair, Idocus and Marlies Van Baalen scored 76.900% in the Grand Prix Kur at the 2004 World Cup in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Dancer received Premium status at the 2002 NA/WPN keuring. He received high marks for his length of stride and elasticity at all three gaits. Dancer was judged to have a very good head/neck connection, with a long poll. His legs were well defined with good pasterns and feet.

Dancer's temperament is second to none. With his incredible work ethic, Dancer is developing his talent as a dressage horse under the skillful tutelage of Susan Fraser, a CEF level 3 coach, in Port Williams, N.S., and Young Rider, Alexandra Hosein. In 2005, Alexandra premiered Dancer in the showrings in Ontario and Quebec where he scored in the mid-60's 1st and 2nd level, and placed in several large open classes, including a 3rd place in Blainville at Level 2. Dancer was awarded his Silver Medal, Second Level, by Dressage Canada for his 2005 show results.

Dancer was gelded in August, 2005, so he can concentrate on becoming a performance horse. Many thanks to the lucky mare owners who recognized his potential and now have offspring ("limited editions", as one mare owner put it) by this special guy.
