A Seafarers Lament

It was half past four he came on board with a dizzy head and a blood shot eye he staggered aft, and the words he said heave your anchor boys we filed away at his command with all sails set we left the land brought Sandpoint light right on our lee he headed for an open sea as night came on the dark clouds lowered the lightening flashed and the thunder roared the storm come down from the angry skies and held her down no more to rise a jib rope broke that held the strain she came ahead to the wind and rose again we're in Boston harbour now, no waves break at her bow and never again will i sail with a drunken captain in a gale.
