"The Quarry - Changing Faces or Facing Changes? "

As an update to recent articles on the many
faces involved with the White's Point Quarry, we have
been unofficially informed ( by multiple sources ) that the new
proponet is Bilcon of Nova Scotia and that Nova
Stone Exporters Inc. and Global Quarry Products Inc. will
no longer be involved. Some credence is given to
this by the recent replacement of corporate names on
the office in Conway, Digby from Global Quarry Products to
Bilcon of Nova Scotia. Does this mean that we
will see some real changes such as recognizing the
legitimate right of a community to determine its won
destiny or is this just a change in cosmetics??
My guess it is just a window dressing (pun intended).

" SUCCESSFUL FUND RAISER EVENT For
The STOP THE QUARRY FUND"
In July the Annual General Meeting event was held
at the Digby Neck Consolidated School. It raised $7400.00 !!
A supper of 134 meals was served by volunteers,
as attendees enjoyed the great homemade chowders, chilis, and
lasagnas with strawberry shortcakes for dessert. The sales included
$1200.00 sales of tickets on the painting "Storm Clouds
over Digby Neck", painted and donated by Alan Stewart
of Sandy Cove and Windsor,N.S.
The slate of officers proved to be a return of
last years. The "Blue Tartans" sang special songs to
the delight of all. A most successful and enjoyable
community event.
" The Eyes and Ears of the public are always
alert and open to any suspecting new developments concerning
the ongoing guard of our land and the beauty
and meaningful heritage we all so much do cherish..."

FOR THE " STOP THE QUARRY " COMMITTEE OF DIGBY NECK
AS OF THE END OF DECEMBER 2004. DUE TO THE
IMPORTANCE OF GETTING THE PROPER AND REGULAR UP TO
DATE INFORMATION TO THE CONCERNED PUBLIC, IT IS BEST
TO HAVE ANOTHER SITE INFORM THE PUBLIC. ANOTHER SITE WILL
BE ANNOUNCED AND ADVERTISED IN THE NEW YEAR...
This site will remain and information will be added
from time to time. Thanks for being concerned with
Little River and its fight with the "Stop the Quarry" supporters.
