They were aware of each other for quite awhile before they ever spoke. Jubilee had followed Rogue, Storm, Dazzler and Psylocke back through one of Gateway's portals and accidently stranded herself in the Austrailan outback. She'd been surviving for awhile by scavenging off of the displaced X-Men - food, clothing and whatever else she could glean. Why Wolverine never informed the others? Who knows? Could've just been his amusement that an underage girl could get by with so much under their noses. But the real beginning of their relationship started in the final pages of Uncanny X-Men #251 when Logan managed to break free of the cross the Reavers had left him on during a storm.
