If you are an ADC Permit Holder in the state of TN you may have been notified by your insurance provider that they no longer carry this line of insurance.
At this present time, to my understanding from TWRA, insurance is mandatory in order to have an Activated ADC Permit. Together, as a group of ADC Permit Holders, we need to start asking some hard tough questions as to why insurance was made mandatory when the people requesting the mandated insurance knew that only one or two companies wrote this type of general liablity insurance for this industry.
It is my understanding of the law in the state of TN, large corporations can put up cash bonds or property in TN in lieu of an insurance requirement. I'm sure none of us can individually afford that.
Currently in the State of TN, FEMA is working with Federal Funds for the purpose of Animal Control. This money undoubtedly was alloted a year or so ago.
I feel that this is an indirect way of issuing contracts to corporations to do Animal Control in this State and possibly Animal Damage Control. Again, I remind you that the HSUS cut this deal with FEMA.
The HSUS, & many others are involved to push for "Mininum Qualification Guidelines". It is my prediction, that eventually, large franchised owned companies will take over the ADC business. But how? Where will they get the insurance? Where will any of us get our insurance from?
It's simple...... In the state of TN, you don't have to have insurance as long as you are willing to put up a surety bond. Only 1 bond is required per company/corportion. There will be one company to begin their operations in the State of TN as an LLC (limited licenced corporation). Only 1 bond will be required. Then, as it all unfolds, the insurance requirement will change and so will the LLC company name. You will then begin to see Inc. And the Incorporated companies will be "Insured" under their corporate umbrella.
Then.......... watch out!
Sports Trapping is next
In the end, there will be those ADC Permit Holders who will be allowed to continue their work thru Federal Contracts
If any of you know of a source for the purchase of this type of insurance, please share it with the others. Time is running out. We only have a few months.
My understanding from TWRA is that even without insurance, existing permit holders can still re-apply for their permit yearly. However, the permit will not be Activated until proof of insurance is shown.
Please be sure to re-apply even though the insurance is not available to you. Hence you will be covered under grandfather clauses.
We need to get on top of this thing and scrape the barrel, so that the bottom of the barrell can tell us what it is trying to show us.
