Project/Proyecto: Education and Retention (Chapters)
Objective - Objectivos:
Objective 1. Raise Conciousness/Concensia
Objective 2. Increase Chicana/o Studies in L.A.U.S.D. High Schools
Objective 3. Retention of Central Chapters and Establish L.A.C.M.C. Alumni System
Objective 4. Establish and Promote programs to increase higher education K - PhD
Activities/Actividades:
Objective 1. Have monthly events (each Chapter) following the new M.E.Ch.A. Philosophy Paper on and off campus
Objective 2. Identify schools that have Chicana/o Studies courses or ethnic studies and begin to educate community/H.S. students as to why Chicana/o Studies is needed
Objective 3. Make contact at least once a month with dormant Chapters in organizing areas. Each Chapter will begin compilation of Alumni to be compiled and distributed at Central.
Objective 4. Educate schools K - PhD situated in Central with programs and with an evaluation process to be done at Central
Timeline:
Objective 1. On-Campus conciousness/concensia platicas to begin now. Off-Campus Inter-Continental Indigenous Festival called Taoyopa (The struggle for what is ours) to be held on October 11th. Chapters submit by January, vote by February of 2000.
Objective 2. Start December of 1999 report in July of 2000
Objective 3. Start November finish by April of 2000
Objective 4. December update on programming.
*All reports will be done at Central of the respective month
