Ionad Oideachais Chorcaí

All Cork Tutors are invited to a meeting next Thursday, 14th. December, in the Doughcloyne at 8 p.m.

This meeting took place and was well attended - A report will appear here shortly.

Update From Robert Scott House (15-10-1998)

Bart congratulates all involved in the creation of the Tutor Site for Cork. He reports that tutors are gainfully employed in the Cork city area and outlying venues in North and East Cork. He thanks all tutors for their courtesy, co-operation and support. Strong representation has been made re. provision of extra software. The Centre is assured that a plentiful supply will be available from the Centre from the middle of next week (20/10).

Tutors are requested to update the Centre regarding the number of teachers registered on their courses, difficulties encountered etc. As it was not possible to issue an accurate list of participants prior to the commencement of all courses, the Centre appreciates that some tutors were not in a position to ensure that only teachers allocated a place registered for a course. The Centre has endeavoured to allocate places fairly and is concerned that spare capacity (breakdowns/tutor machine) and the one teacher per computer ratio may have been compromised by teachers turning up on the day/night. A further concern is that available places (where teachers did not register) could be taken up by teachers on a waiting list.

Please E-mail your participant list to this site

Tutor/Venue availability are the critical factors in determining a strategy. Summer Course Phase 1 participants are awaiting our response. Should we consider utilisation of large central facilities?
