Pop sensation Britney Spears has some fans furious. She was a no-show at a major event Wednesday, apparently because she was getting "N'Sync" with another teen idol. EXTRA has the story on the Britney backlash.

Nearly 2 thousand screaming teens showed up in Boston on Wednesday for a Britney Spears lovefest. Some had been waiting since nine-thirty the night before. But the cheering crowd became an angry mob when the teen heartthrob blew Off the Obeantown album signing. So what kept her away. Well it wasn't acne that kept 17 year old Britney away, it was love. Instead of staying in Boston she took off to Memphis with her boyfriend Justin Timberlake of N'SYnc.

Boston herald columnist Gayle Fee says Britney is hot and heavy with 18 year old Justin Timberlake. They even checked into a hotel suite together under an assumed name and spent the night. That's right, teenagers sharing the same hotel room. Fee says that sends the wrong message to the millions of kids who idolize these two. It makes you wonder exactly where are the parents?

But Britney says there's no need for chaperones, and that she and Justin are just Friends and have been since they were Mousketeers together. Fee, on the other hand, says they don't act like "just friends." Britney Spears sent out a statement today, in which she apologized to fans for missing the Boston event and said that it would be re-scheduled.
