Echoes

This twenty-three and a half minute song filled the B side of the record. It consists of varies odd riffs , over 24, pieced together. It changed names several times from "Nothing, 1-24" to the Japenese monster movies "Son of Nothing," and "Return of the Son of Nothing." Lyrics to earlier works of this song spoke of planets and space but lost that theme as it progessed.

The opening ping was an accident by Rick Wright who let his piano ring through the amplifier. Later this exact sound was attempted to be reproduced but the exact match could not be found. In the end they used the original recording from Abbey Road studios on the record.

This song was preformed live to end the movie "pink Floyd, Live at Pompeii" where the band played to an empty stadium.

Roger expressed his boredom of this songs length in interviews and declared he spiced the up by giving it more funny names. "Looking Through the Knot in Granny's Wooden Leg," was one as well as "We Won the Double,"in honor of the soccer team Arsenal who won both leage and cup play in 1972. In Germany the called it "The March of the Dumpsters." This title was not liked by the Germans.

"Crystal Voyage," a surf movie, featured clips of "Echoes" as a surfer ride a board with a camera mounted on the end to capture good footage. Later the band became tired of the song and tried to push the footage along with the song as a toilet cleaner but was unsuccessful.

Eclipse

Roger uses his classic list technique to end the most popular Floyd album ever made. Jerry Driscoll, the Abbey Road, doorman, cheerfully adds "There is no darkside of the moon - matter of its all dark." Ending the madness once and not for all but only until "Wish You Were Here."

Embryo

A short work on the "Works" album, Embryo is nothing more then a sound effected 'Breathe,' from the Darkside album which it is the introduction to the album. Nothing more.

Empty Spaces

The words "Congratulations, you have just discovered the secret message. Send your answer to Old Pink, care of the Funny Farm Chalfort." The first Cd's issued mistakenly called this track 'Young Lust' after the following track. Oooops.

End of the Beginning

Another name for 'Celestial Voices,' from which is part of the song 'Saucerful of Secrets.' This title was used in the "Mass Gadgets of Auximes," tour. Yet another title to a same song.
