Paul Hurst a.k.a. "Rev."
My name is Paul Hurst. I use the handle "Rev." on a few hunting forums. I am a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute of
Chicago (1978), Western Bible College of Denver (1980) and Moody Graduate School in Chicago (1996). I have been
a pastor since 1984 and have served three churches. Currently I am the pastor of the Maple Ridge Bible Church of
Boscobel, WI; which is in the Southwest corner of the state. We live on a bluff overlooking the Wisconsin River, about a
half hour's drive east of the Mississippi River.
I am an avid hunter and fisherman, target shooter and woodworker. Maybe I have too many hobbies! I also help teach
hunter safety classes at our local sportsman's club. I enjoy canoeing and photography. When at the rifle range, I love
shooting my muzzleloader and my revolvers. I use a Cabela's Sporterized Hawkin Carbine for deer (50 cal).
Handgunning for me is a day with my S&W 19 and Ruger Blackhawk. Plinking is good therapy. Devouring hunting and
shooting magazines keeps me up late when the work is done in the off season.
Pastoral work is a pleasure because we preach the Scriptures through exposition. Where we leave off one Sunday, we
begin the next. Our people come to understand and know whole books of the Bible this way, and it eliminates the need
for much counseling. We are an independent Bible believing church with a long history and a family atmosphere.
I have been married for twenty years and have two sons and two daughters. I am a Wisconsin native, but grew up in Ohio,
and for a time we lived in Western Colorado at Craig. Contact me at hurstpa@mwt.net
