'10th and Wolf' filming creates stir in the Strip

A lot of drivers were rubber-necking on Penn Avenue in the Strip District yesterday.
There was the shiny red Corvette, the tanned babes in their snug blue jeans and wait, who's that tall guy in the black suit? Could it be ... Tommy Lee?
The actor popularly better known as the drummer for rock band Motley Crue was in town yesterday for the filming of "10th and Wolf." The 31st Street Pub was turned into The Congress Club for the movie. Brad Renfro, Giovanni Ribisi and James Marsden were also on the set.
The movie is based on a true story about a mob war in South Philadelphia. The war was between young mobsters who expected to assume control of a crime family.

Ribisi's character, Joey, pulls up to The Congress Club in a hot set of wheels. He impresses his pals and the gals who are standing outside the strip joint; they greet him by crowding around the car. Cut
The story for "10th and Wolf" was created by actor Chazz Palminteri and by FBI special agent and Mafia informant Joe Pistone. The cast also includes Val Kilmer, Freddie Prinze Jr., Brian Dennehy, Lesley Ann Warren and Dennis Hopper.
Filming in the Strip District is expected to last until the weekend. The crew will be filming in the Pittsburgh area until Nov. 1
