Stretching: Cure or Quackery?
It has been speculated that using stretching devices such as
the
JES-Extender can actually help fix the curvature in
those that have Peyronie's. The JES company actually did
a survey and found (in their opinion) that stretching can
dramatically help straighten unwanted curvature.
There are just as many who support this theory as there
are those that reject it. Those that reject this treatment
say that it can cause further injury to the erectile tissue,
thus developing more scar tissue. They also state that such
devices and therapy are often extemely costly ($999.00!) and unpractical.
One man makes a good point:
"I spoke to Dr. *** this afternoon about the JES and other stretcher
devices. He laughed, then cautioned that any stretching that tears the scar
tissue can in turn cause new scarring to start. As you know, the scarring is what
causes the tethering effect and bend of Peyronie's. He made a distinction
between very gentle stretching, but inferred that, how do you know how much is
safe?"
Also, a man by the name of Tom Hubbard has a web site in which he
describes ways that stretching the penis can be affordable (in some
cases alomst free of cost) and very practical. While his website
focuses mostly on gaining length and circumference of the penis, if stretching
really does help the curvature in Peyronies Disease, here is a way to do it affordably and in a practical
manner. A link to Mr. Hubbard's site is provided below. It is important
to note that he has nothing to sell and I am not receiving any form
of payment from him by providing his site to the public.
