| Probably the place that a lot more tourists are looking at as one of the alternative resorts away from Kuta. Very under rated, Sanur is quiet and picturesque, abounding in beautiful lush gardens and boasting a beautiful tropical beach. This place lacks nothing except pollution and noise and the intimidating hawkers. There are a few hawkers here, but not as aggressive as their Kuta counterparts. Plenty of restaurants and a steady rise of shops and resorts. It has the advantage of being only ten minutes from Denpasar and fifteen minutes to Kuta by car. It is a launching pad for taking a quick tour up to Ubud and other regional Balinese centres. A taxi ride from Sanur to Kuta is approx. $AUD2.50. Sanur to Denpasar is approx. $AUD1.20. A day trip by bemo is approx. $AUD30.00. Taxis and bemos can be always found out the front of the Radisson Hotel. Most are good, trustworthy drivers who know the island like the back of their hand. The guy I had was excellent and highly recommended. His name is Leon.
