Suppose for a moment that you were to stand before God and He was to ask you, "Why should I let you into My heaven?" What would be your reply? |
It is not a hypothetical question. The Bible teaches that there is coming a day when we will come before the God of the universe and there will be an accounting. I don't know about you, but that makes me more than a bit uncomfortable. Especially when I read in the Bible of the kind of holiness to which God calls His people to live. It is not an unreasonable demand on God's part. He created us to be holy. But then sin entered the picture. Man determined to go his own way and to do his own thing. That sin brought about a deep division between man and God.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16).
We are all going to stand before the Lord one day and He is going to say, "I have some bad news and I have some good news. The bad news is that you have all messed it up and gotten it wrong. And some of you have gotten it VERY wrong. The good news is that I have talked to My Son about you and He said that it was okay." Have you come to the Son? Have you come to Jesus? You will find that He is ready and waiting for you to come to Him and to trust in Him. The salvation that He offers to you was not cheap -- it cost Him everything. It was not cheap, but it is given to you for free.
For by grace you have been saved, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9).
How do you get there from here? It is simply a matter of faith. Entrust yourself into the care of Jesus. Trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).
