Fellowshipping with Devils
God has called his people to be Holy. Holy means separate or set apart. As Christians we are to be separated from sin
and the devil and set apart for the cause of God. One attempt of Satan has always been to gray
the area that distinguishes between right and wrong. Those underneath his deep control such as
Satanists and Witches have similar beliefs that there is no right and
wrong. They, not by coincidence might I
add, profess there is no good or bad and no God or Devil. This is very strange but it is true that
organized Satanists don’t believe in a real God or even a real Devil. They as well as witches declare neutrality,
being neither good nor bad. But God’s
word is very clear about the line between what is right and wrong. However despite the specific standard set in
the Word of God, many people including Christians continue to attempt to
fellowship with both God and the Devil.
Let’s consider this matter a little further.
It
is very clear that God from the beginning desired fellowship with His
creation. We see it from the time that
He walked and talked with Adam and how He continued to commune with the heart
of man throughout the ages. Jesus came
to die for our sins. He literally dealt
with the sin problem of humanity at
1Cor.1:9. God
is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ
our Lord.
Satan,
being the enemy of God, hates and opposes all that is of God and all that God
wants. He recognizes that God’s primary
goal is fellowship with humanity. He
attempts to enter that relationship and destroy it much as an adulteress
mistress would a solid marriage. Any
“affair” is a victory for him. His
ultimate goal is to completely sever ones fellowship with God by continually
contaminating that person with his own thinking. He does this when we commune with him rather
than God.
Joh.10:10. The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that
they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
God
is a Jealous God and He won’t share. God
and Satan are enemies so one must decide whose side they are on. We are repeatedly told in the Word to abstain
from fellowshipping with darkness, the devil, and even the world.
1Cor.10:20. But
I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice,
they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have
fellowship with devils.
2Cor.6:14. Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion
hath light with darkness?
Eph.5:11. And
have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove
them
There
are simple obvious ways to tell if you have been fellowshipping with the
devil. For instance if a person uses
manipulation and devious scheming to get what they desire it is obvious they
are under the influence of a demonic spirit just as Jezebel, who controlled her
husband Ahab and killed many prophets of the LORD. And no doubt the corrupt leader who remains
in position but has forsaken God and his ways is “in the same boat” as King
Saul, who was the first king over
Joh.8:44-45. Ye
are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of
it. And because I tell you the truth, ye
believe me not.
Jesus
spoke this to the religious leaders who were hypocritical. In essence Jesus was saying, ‘seeing as you
are so hypocritical and can’t recognize who I am, it is evident you have been
spending time with the devil because you are acting and talking just like him’.
In
conclusion let’s look at some things that John wrote concerning fellowship to
see who we really should be fellowshipping with.
1Jo.1:3-7. That
which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that
ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the
Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your
joy may be full. This then is the
message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all. If we
say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not
the truth: But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
from all sin.
