Drawn by the Light

Drawn by the Light

Drawn by the Light

From the album, ”Nights in France” 1987

I used to have a job on the factory line
Saved a little money I was doing fine
Just a poor boy, but I was doing alright
I met her in a bar, I gave her the eye
Told me she was lonely and she seemed so shy
I was taken, taken for a ride

But I'm back in the game
Just like a moth to the flame
And it feels alright
I'm drawn by the light

I saved a little time, I'd had a holiday
Working like a dog, I had to get away
Show the city the back of my heels
She was on the highway, thumb in the air
Told me that her daddy was a millionaire
She's a rich girl, so why'd she steal my wheels

But I'm back in the game

Just like a moth to the flame
And it feels alright
I'm drawn by the light

(instrumental part)

I'm running out of cash, I head for the man
She was in the bank, a pistol in her hand
I fell over, and I fell right in love
I done it in the church and I done it in jail
And if I ain't in trouble then I'm out on bail
Just a poor boy, but I can't get enough

So I'm back in the game
Just like a moth to the flame
And it feels alright
I'm drawn by the light
Yes, it feels alright
I'm drawn by the light
Drawn by the light
Alright, alright, alright
