Compared to the group's later albums, The Eagles' debut album from 1972 is a somewhat uneven affair. There are some nice tracks such as the singles "Take it Easy", "Witchy Woman" and the perhaps less well-known "Peaceful Easy Livin'". Many of the other tracks are quite fine, but are also, to varying degrees, somewhat forgettable. Only Gene Clarke's "Train Leaves Here This Morning" really stands out - a nice and pleasantly subdued version.
