Comments:

This 1969 album was the final from Spanish band Los Bravos. Perhaps it is slightly better than their previous, but musically it has a rather unclear direction and the quality of the actual songs are pretty uneven. There are two standouts, the two Vanda/Young compositions, “We’ll Make it Together” and especially “Wait a Minute”. The arrangements are very close to the Easybeats’ originals, which both can be heard on their album “The Shame Just Drained”. There were also two Vanda/Young songs on the predecessor; especially “Bring a Little Lovin’” was very good.

There are three semi-good tracks; “Just Holding on” and “Cool it” both have good intros, but the songs themselves are nothing special. “Baby I Love” has a bit of a Phil Spector sound to it, though it’s not the great Ronettes song of the same title. The song is not nearly as good as the Ronettes hit, but the female choir on the chorus is quite nice.

I have a feeling that this group could have been a lot more successful outside Spain, had they been allowed to record more quality songs, like their breakthrough “Black is Black” and more Vanda/Young songs. They were a solid band with a good lead singer, but lacked direction and good songs; unfortunately.
