Comments:

I remember when I first listened to the album "Parachutes" that I was somewhat disappointed. I loved the single "Yellow" which reminded me a lot of Blur's 1997 album. "Yellow" had a nice mixture of rawness and melody and the song became a radio favorite in 2000.

Originally, there were not really any other tracks that caught on, which I now find difficult to understand. For example, "Don’t Panic" is an incredibly beautiful and melodic track, which for unintelligible reasons never became a hit. A minor hit, in turn, was another fine track, the piano-based “Trouble”. Also "Shiver", a brit-pop type track was released on single, and made it to the lower parts of the charts.

The second half of the album is quite subdued, without really big songs, and I guess this part originally made to underestimate the album as a whole. "Yellow" and "Don’t Panic" will probably remain among my Coldplay favorites, the album as a whole is quite a solid debut.
