"Recurring Dream" from 1996 was the first compilation album with Crowded House. It contains equally distributed four tracks from each of the group's first four albums, as well as three new unreleased songs.

All tracks have been out on singles, so it is very much a singles album; in the group released so many singles that some have been left out. I think the album nicely represents the best of the group and for a compilation there is really nothing I am missing.

The group's best-known tracks such as "Weather With You", "Don't Dream it's Over", "Better Be Home Soon", "Distant Sun" etc. are of course all included and another of my favorites, "Pineapple Head" is also to be found – I feel there's quite a lot of Jethro Tull sound on this one.

A deluxe version with an extra CD of fine live recordings recorded in the period 1991-1994 can be found. Very nice sound on these and it may not be true, but I feel that some of them must have be polished up later and perhaps been overdubbed a bit here and there – sound great at any rate.
