Comments:

This album was the first to be released as T Rex, but was in fact mostly a Tyrannosaurus Rex album, as this was still a duo composed of Marc Bolan and Mickey Finn. Only later did the group expand with Steve Currie and Bill Legend, which established the group's minimal glam rock sound. However, the album is obviously a transitional album and the use of strings and extended use of the electric guitar shows which way the group was going.

Also the two Turtles singers Flo and Eddie appear here, which was also the case with the subsequent great albums "Electric Warrior" and "The Slider" and where their vocals were a significant part of the group's sound.

The songwriting has also been tightened up compared to its predecessors and here are highlights such as "One Inch Rock", "Seagull Woman" and "Beltane Walk". American versions include the big hit "Ride a White Swan" which was recorded during the same sessions.
