Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Harvest 1975 Comments:sh You Were Here” was Pink Floyd’s follow-up to their massively successful 1973 album “The Dark Side of the Moon”. Obviously it was a hard task to satisfy expectations from fans and critics, and when originally released in 1975. Early reviews were moderate positive, but gradually it became evident that Pink Floyd had created a new classic.
Key tracks are the long 9 parts suite-song “Shine on You Crazy Diamond”, which was a tribute to their original front-man Syd Barrett. The song-suite is divided into two seperate tracks and take up about two thirds of thye album’s playing time. It’s a very atmospeheric nummer, especially memorable for the great 4 note guitar riff, as well as some great bluesy guitar from Gilmour - and of course the great song with its fine lyrics.
The other key track is the title song which probably is one of the most often covered Pink Floys songs, with it’s nice simple melodic structure. The other two songs are fine too, without have quite the same melodic qualities as the two aforementioned.
