The contents of this CD follows the chronology of Matovina's Badfinger biography and references to the tracks can be found in the book. The Iveys tracks are interesting, and some of them are actually quite good. The sound quality on some of them is fine - especially on tracks 3,4 and 6. The greatest problem for me with these Iveys recordings are the harmony "Ahhs" which are often too dominating and shrill.
Of the demo's Pete "Take It All" is very nice
The BBC performance of "Maybe Tomorrow" is simply great
The musical scoop for me is obviously "Hey, Mr Manager" from Head First. Fantastic to hear that song without the distortion of the bootleg versions. Tom Evans song "Over You" is another highlight
The interviews are extremely succesful and they give a very good impression of Tom and especially Pete . The atmosphere seems to be very relaxed and the questions are good and well-prepared. The picture of Pete as a very pleasant and thoughtful person which we know from Matovina's biography also comes through here.
The Steve Craiter phone calls are obviously not in perfect sound quality. I imagine the Tom Evans calls will be hard to swallow for some fans.
My favourites: Hey, Mr Manager, Over You and both interviews
Other very good tracks: Take Good Care Of My Baby, She Came Out Of The Cold, Knocking Down Our Home, Clown Of The Party, Maybe Tomorrow and Take It All
Of 10 possible stars I would give this CD: 6
