Grizabella is the outcast among the Jellicles. It is apparent that she at one time left the tribe to live an extravagant life of fame and fortune. However, those days were not to last forever. She became old, and she was no longer wanted. She returned to the tribe, but was shunned. In the end, Grizabella is re-accepted, and it is Grizabella whom Old Duteronomy chooses to go to the Heavyside Layer.
