Munkustrap
Munkustrap is a large grey tabby who guides us through the course of the musical. He is often the one who keeps the other Jellicles in line and corrects them when they fall out of step. He is also the protector of the Jellicles, and this is seen when the kittens scurry to him for protection from Macavity. It is Munkustrap who battles Macavity when the evil feline kidnaps Old Duteronomy.
"Now Old Duteronomy just before dawn, Through a silence you feel you could cut with a knife, announces the cat who can now be reborn and come back to a different Jellicle life."
