Niklas Sundstrom scored twice and Steve Shields made 22 saves as the San Jose Sharks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators.

Sundstrom opened the scoring at 4:21 of the first period when his one-timer from the right faceoff circle deflected off Nashville defenseman Dan Keczmer and between goaltender Mike Dunham's pads for his second goal of the season.

Sundstrom gave the Sharks a two-goal cushion with 6:33 left in the second period when he one-timed Alex Korolyuk's pass from the left boards over a sprawled Dunham.

Shields recorded his seventh win, tying him with Detroit's Chris Osgood for the league lead. His best save came midway through the second period, when he made a glove stop on Patrick Cote's one-timer from the right circle.
