Brady injury puts AFC up for grabs
Suddenly, the landscape in the AFC East has undergone a massive earthquake. The Patriots now have to face an entire season without NFL MVP Tom Brady at quarterback. That instantly boosts the chances of both the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets for making the playoffs and a chance at the division title.
The Bills beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-10, while the Jets squeaked by the Miami Dolphins. Even the Pats won without Brady for most of the game and the AFC will be wide open this year for the first time in many seasons.
Special Teams pave the way for Bills
The Bills were going for a field goal, or so everyone thought. I had looked away for a second when suddenly the FOX broadcaster shouted that it was a fake and Ryan Denney was wide open. Denney had "pretended" that he was going off the field when he lingered near the sidelines and then ran down the field when the ball was snapped, to the bewilderment of the Fox announcers and the Seahawks. That TD broke the game open and the Hawks didn't have a chance after that.
Another great special teams play was when Roscoe
Parrish weaved and spun his way to a 63-yard punt return that electrified the
crowd.
The Bills, who started off slow in the first quarter, ended with a bang and
recorded their first opening day win in years. Right after the fake FG touchdown
pass by punter Brian Moorman, the Bills recovered a fumble and Trent Edwards
immediately connected with Robert Royal for another touchdown. Lights out for
the Seahawks!
