Croesus Cave

Croesus cave is a gentle streamway cave at Mole Creek. You spend the entire time walking over flowstone formation, gour pools and even some small cave pearls, all with an active streamway running over it.

This formation is called the Floating Cone, as there is nothing underneath it - the slightly acidic water has eaten it away. An underwater flash would show the pool behind it.
There are many patches of stream covered flowstone such as this. Of course, the delicate nature of the cave means that it is highly permit restricted.
Yet another beautiful pool in the cave. An inflatible rubber boat is just visible in the distance.
The famous boat ride. The track used to go over the flowstone on the right, however the often dry flowstone slope was getting damaged - so this inflatable boat was put in to allow cavers to paddle around it. I hate to think of what would happen if it burst...
