Oh, the rain! It was the reason for their happiness. The first rain storm of Cephiro after the dry season. Well, that was if it could really be called a storm. It was raining relatively hard, but there was no thunder or lightening. Only thick, cloudy skies & falling water as far as the eye could see. And so the 17 year old Magic Knights played in the rain with her friends. Hikaru & Eagle were holding hands and spinning around as fast as their feet would carry them. Lantis watched his lover and his best friend from the shelter of the doorway. He had flat out refused to get 'soaking wet and colder than a dead dog' as he put it. Umi had stolen Ascot's hat, and she and Caldina were taking turns passing it to one another and teasing the young summoner. Lafarga sat on a bench just under the overhanging branches of the trees, chuckling quietly to himself as Caldina used her magic to make Ascot's hat disappear. He laughed again as it reappeared just above Umi's head. Ascot turned around & glared at Umi. Seeing the hat, he lunged for it. Umi hadn't realized what had hit her (she had been laughing too hard to notice Ascot throwing himself at her) until she was sprawled on the ground, she and Ascot a tangle of limbs on the wet grass. Ascot sat up, stuffed the hat on his head & clamped his hands over it to keep it there. Caldina had sat down too, she was laughing so hard. Fuu was sitting on the bench next to Lafarga. She never was one to play in the rain. There really was no point. All it did was make one wet and cold, not to mention you just wasted a pair of clothes to the laundry. But nonetheless, Umi and Hikaru had managed to drag her out side so that she could sit on a bench, the rain pouring down on her, and watch them have fun with the ones they loved. The one she loved was inside, along with Presea and Clef, attending to some important little matter or another. He had been busy the whole time they had been there, which was only 4 hours, but it was still frustrating. He had welcomed them back, kissed her once, then made some excuse about pressing matters and gone off to settle them. She sighed mentally, pursing her lips in frustration. She didn't like feeling selfish, which was exactly how she felt, but what was so important that it couldn't wait until they were gone? She was only going to be here for a weekend, than they had to go back to their world, and she did want to spend some time with him before they left. She sighed again, and standing up from the bench, turned toward the door. She stepped quietly past Lantis, who followed her for only a moment with his eyes, and walked on down the halls of the palace, still dripping wet. She wandered for what could have been hours, she wasn't sure for she had no watch, leaving footprints that grew less wet with every step. She found herself wandering down a corridor lined with paintings of many people. Each was titled with a different name, date of birth, and date of death. The last picture was of Clef, though no death date was present. Ah, she thought to herself. I see. these are all the mages before Clef. Well, with all the paintings, if every mage lived half as long as Clef already has... My, Cephiro must be ancient! As Fuu stood, gazing at the painting of the present Mage of Cephiro, she got one of the better frights of her life. A pair of arms circled around her waist. In response, she let out a loud scream and jumped nearly 3 feet in the air. She turned around and glared at Ferio, who by now was holding his sides with laughter. "What did you do that for?" she practically yelled, losing her composure for a moment. But for only a moment. Taking a deep breath, she adjusted her glasses, attempting to bring back some of her now fleeting control. No matter however mad she might be at him, when he smiled it was enough to melt her heart. Every time he laughed, that silly grin on his handsome face, she wanted to throw herself on him, regardless of where they were. And he knew it ,too. If she was the slightest bit sad or angry or scared, he'd smile at her and hold her and tell her everything was all right, and she'd believe him. She trusted him 20 times more than she trusted Hikaru, and that was saying something. Now he stepped forward, and enveloped her in a warm hug, still laughing softly as he held her. "I'm sorry," he apologized, smiling sincerely. "I didn't mean to scare you." "It's all right. You just startled me. Greatly, I might add." She pulled back and smiled at him, locking her arms around his neck. Looking into his eyes, she smiled slightly again, before brushing her lips against his, once, twice, hesitant as always. Bringing his hand up to the back of her neck, he pushed her head forward gently so that her lips pressed more tightly against his. His touch grew hot, his mouth more desperate. His arms hugged her closer, crushing her body against his. Just as he touched his tongue to hers, she suddenly pulled away. He was about to apologize, thinking perhaps he'd done something wrong. He knew she was somewhat prude, however much he loved her, and he hated it when she felt uncomfortable. The apology was about to come, but she silenced him by pressing her finger to his lips. "Don't apologize," she whispered. "You have nothing to be sorry for. I would simply like to state that before we continue our , ahem, 'activity', we should find someplace more private. Like, oh say...your bedroom?" She smiled seductively. Well, Ferio though, his eyes widening in surprise,So much for being prude! Smiling happily, Ferio swept Fuu off her feet, into his arms, and carried her off to his bedroom. *** Halfway through the palace, Fuu had convinced Ferio that she could walk on her own two feet, and was now practically running with him, hand in hand, to his bedroom. Little did either of them notice passing the open door of the library, where everyone was set out over cups of hot tea and cocoa. Umi looked up as she heard a giggling noise pass the door. Standing up, she walked to the door and looked down the hallway. Smirking, she tip-toed out after Fuu and her beloved, following them down the corridor. Hikaru stood and ran out after Umi, along with a concerned Ascot and a curious Caldina. The four followed them to the end of the hallway, where Fuu stopped and, pushing Ferio against the door, kissed him hotly. The two fell inward as the door gave under the pressure then closed quickly, blocking the two lovers from view. Umi turned wide eyes to a puzzled Hikaru, a snickering Caldina and a blushing Ascot. "They're not going to do what I think they're going to do, are they?" Umi asked to no one in particular. "Oh, they're gonna do EXACTLY whatcha think they're gonna do!" Caldina said, still snickering. Hikaru looked from Umi to Caldina, then back again and sighed. "What?" Caldina asked. "Nothing, it's just everyone always seems to know something I don't," she said, looking at the floor. Umi and Caldina both rolled their eyes. *** Ferio had Fuu pushed up against the back of the door, and was now kissing his way down her neck. The blazer and the vest of her school uniform had already been removed, and lay crumpled on the floor, along with Ferio's shirt. Reaching the buttons of her blouse, he began to slip them free, one by one. His fingers left traces of fire everywhere they gently brushed her flesh. Very soon, the blouse joined the pile of clothes followed quickly by her skirt and all her underthings. Now Fuu stood, totally naked, in front of the only man she had ever loved, the only man she would ever love. Blush began to rise on her cheeks, hot and burning. She looked at the floor, not wanting to meet his eyes, nervously twisting her hands. Stepping forward and locking one arm around her bare waist, he tilted up her faye-like chin to look into her eyes. He smiled seeing the red on her cheeks. It added to the calm beauty she possessed so modestly. Pulling her chin out of his hand, she tried to look away again. He chuckled lightly to himself. Catching her lips with his, he kissed her softly. When he pulled away, he leaned down and whispered in her ear. "You don't have anything to be ashamed of. Your the most beautiful woman I've ever met." From that moment on she seemed to glow with some inner light. She knew what she was doing was morally wrong, and if her parents knew they'd probably disown her. And yet it seemed so right! Fate had brought them together, and they were going to stay that way. Who was she to defy Destiny? She crushed her lips to his, wanting to feel his lips on hers, his hands on her body, but mostly she wanted him to claim her, take what was his and satisfy her hungering need. As if sensing her want, he picked her up and laid her gently down on the bed. She watched him intently as he stripped off all his remaining clothing and crawled in next to her. Pulling her to him he kissed her soft lips, then her neck and collarbone. Going lower still, his hands played over her body, stopping to touch and caress every inch of her. A low moan of pleasure escaped her lips as his mouth traveled downward. He was just about to reach the center of her desire when she pulled him up suddenly. Cupping his face in her hands, she looked into his eyes. "No more play," she whispered breathlessly, smoothing the hair out of his eyes. "I need you now. Take me, I'm yours!" He nodded silently, praying with all his being that he was doing the right thing. What if she became pregnant, what then? What if they regretted this act of passion, what would happen to their relationship? Fuu's quiet voice broke his thoughts. "There is no need to hesitate, Love. I'm ready for whatever life brings to us after this. Even children. Now please, stop pondering and show me you love me." Thanking the gods for this precious gift that lay beneath him, he moved closer and entered her, mentally crossing his fingers. Soon all consciousness left him as the slow, fiery rhythm engulfed them. Their cries mingled together as they moved, their bodies feeling the heat of love for the first time. Fuu felt her body reaching some unknown peak as she threw her head back in passion. Suddenly, she felt as if a some red-hot brand were ripping through her body, sending her tumbling over the edge. A loud scream wrenched itself from her throat, mixing with his as they finished. Collapsing together into a tangle of limbs, they breathed heavily. Ferio held Fuu in his arms, kissing her forehead gently, tasting the saltiness as the remnants of their love-making. Blinking the sweat out of his eyes, he looked down at Fuu, her chest heaving as she breathed in gulps of air. You're a virgin." He said, his voice low and quiet. "I WAS a virgin," she corrected, looking up into his eyes. "Why?" "You should have told me." "Would you have stopped if I had?" "Maybe," he answered, looking away for a moment before training his eyes back on her. "Then I'm glad I didn't," she answered decisively, smiling at his concern. He hugged her tighter. "I love you," he whispered, stroking her hair. "I know." *** The next morning Hikaru, Umi and Fuu gathered out in the garden, preparing to return to their world. Umi and Hikaru had been very quiet to Fuu all morning, not in a hostile sort of way, but it plagued her nonetheless. She was almost positive they knew about last night, and much to her surprise, she could've cared less. So what? it was her life, after all. They needn't know what she did 24 hours a day! Just as the girls joined hands, Ferio came running into the courtyard, begging them to hold on for just a minute. After breakfast that morning, he'd said he had something he wanted to do before they left. When he wasn't there to bid them farewell, Fuu had been a little disappointed, but nothing could put a damper on her mood. Now he was here, rushing toward them, a smile on his face. "Might I borrow this lovely lady before you leave," he asked Hikaru, taking Fuu by the hand and leading her a little ways off so that they could talk without being overheard. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing nerves. Taking her hand in his, he got down on one knee and pulled a small, glimmering ring out of his pocket. Looking up at her he began. "Last night was the best of my life. After you'd fallen asleep I decided that there was no one else in any world I would rather spend eternity with. I need you more than you know, without you I am incomplete. Fuu, will you marry me?" he slipped the ring on her finger. She looked down at the band on her finger. So simple, and yet it meant so much. Tears sprang to her eyes, flowing unheeded down her cheeks. Flinging herself into his embrace, she cried happily, "Of course I will!" He wrapped his arms around her, a tear of joy sliding down his left cheek. "Now you've got to go home and explain to your parents you're marrying a prince from a different world," he said, leading her back to her friends. Umi and Hikaru looked at her, puzzled. "I'll tell you when we get home," she said smiling. "Come back soon," She heard Ferio call as they joined hands, drawing their energy around them, willing their world to appear in place of Cephiro. Smiling happily, tears of joy flowed freely down Fuu Hououjii's face. Her heart had been captured. On a bleak, rainy day, she had been made the happiest girl in the cosmos. The End |
